Everyone needs to rein in the rhetoric. This thread is to counter all those other threads placing blame on liberals for heated rhetoric. No one has done more to coarsen political discourse than Trump.

Someone ought to do our President a big favor and sprain his Tweet fingers. It won't stop his mouth from misfiring, but it would cut down on the amount of damage he inflicts on himself.

So, will any Democrat ever admit their role in creating a climate of hatred?

Nah.

Thought I would put this here... Trump just took down Mark Sanford.

TRUMP HELPS TAKE DOWN MARK SANFORD

Did Trump’s endorsement swing the race to Arrington? Maybe not, coming as late as it did. But I’m guessing that the endorsement put Arrington over the top. Keep in mind that Arrington didn’t just need to outpoll Sanford. She needed to win a majority of the vote to avoid a run-off.

In the most recent count I’ve seen, Arrington is at 50.5 percent, only about 300 votes clear of a run-off (if my math is correct). It’s easy to believe that Trump influenced enough votes to provide that boost.

But what helped push her to a majority?

FELLED BY A TWEET

In his characteristic style, President Trump pointedly reminded voters of Sanford’s past disgrace as South Caroline voters went to the polls yesterday afternoon: “He is better off in Argentina.”

I'm sorry, Republicans opposed the guy that cheated on his wife after electing the guy that cheated his wife/wives? Trump actually had the nerve to tweet about Appalachia? What about Aspen? What about three wives and three families? Mark Sanford was elected after the Appalachian Trail. Republicans don't care about family values, that's just something they use as a talking point.

Nah.
This thread is about Republican Rep Mark Sanford and President Donald Trump.

If you want to completely ignore the OP subject matter and pivot to talk badly about democrats, start a new thread for it.

Thanks in advance for your compliance.

I can't argue with you on that one... the Argentina reference was not good. He could have left that alone and it still would have been an effective tweet.

Republicans, as a whole, are not centered on family values. They are still the better option in that area than the Democrats.

The Argentina reference was classic. Trump lecturing Sanford on marital fidelity. And Trump supporters saw no irony in that, they just do Trump's bidding.
