People like to joke about crime and the like in big cities. But the reality is that rural areas are MUCH poorer than big cities. The poorest parts of Michigan aren't in Detroit, far from it. It's rural areas that are poorest.
Vast generalizations. Nothing more.

Actually, both cities are densely populated the majority of the actual residents being uneducated non-white ghetto dwellers who also partake of illegal drugs. Those with education and wealth may work in those cities but live in the suburbs where the good public schools are.

Stats aren't generalizations. Rural areas are the poorest, most drug addicted, least educated parts of America, with the lowest workforce participation. These are the facts.

What are the richest, most productive areas, with the lowest rates of drug addiction and highest education and workforce participation levels? The "liberal" areas. NYC, SF, Boston, DC and the like.

First, when you say "Detroit" obviously you mean "Metro Detroit". We don't look at arbitrary city limits, obviously. 90% of "Detroit" is outside the historic city limits, as with most cities.

But you're wrong. Both the City of Detroit and suburban Detroit voted for Clinton, and both the city and suburbs are richer and better educated than rural America.

The richest counties in Michigan are in Metro Detroit and voted for Clinton. The poorest counties in Michigan are in rural areas, and every last one voted for Trump.

Evidently they are also the smartest because we won! Stick that up your flagpole and see how it flies. Hillary used more money and the same kind of charm you used in your post to lose the election. She is not likeable. Trump is interesting and fun.

And so? Is someone forcing you to live in a small town in Kansas? Pat yourself on the back for living in a big city and move on with your life. BTW, stop degrading people because of where they live. It's not very becoming.

You do realize that voting for a winning candidate has zero to do with intelligence, correct?

I suspect I know the answer already. The more people think they know, the less they actually know.

No one "degraded" anyone. We're just citing Census data. Data have no bias; it's just data.

Here is a list of the poorest 100 counties in the U.S. They are basically 100% rural and 100% overwhelmingly for Trump.

New Orleans is much richer and more educated than rural America, BTW.

You don't understand how elections work. Trump won by 8,000 votes in battleground states. He OVERWHELMINGLY won the rural vote, which consists of like 50 million Americans.

Montana and Wyoming have nothing to do with anything, BTW. They played zero role in the election.
I don't understand elections? Please. This means absolutely nothing and all of your wealthy, educated, NYC is the capital of the world theories have been debunked by a 1,000 people on here alone.

Just for a tip of the iceberg example, Long Island had over 100,000 people that voted for Trump alone.

OH and PA had tons of people in the suburbs that voted for Trump.

You claim rural people put Trump into power, then you agree with me and make the statement that the most rural states in the country didn't matter.

That's some serious expert Ivy league analysis you have let me tell you. I'm impressed.

There still wasn't enough rural voters in the battleground states to matter, it was the people in the suburbs and exurbs of cities that tipped the scales.
