Overeating isn't necessarily the result of self-medication. Much of it is just gluttony. The USDA OIG agrees, as well, and has recommended a reduction in means-tested Federal free food program benefits. But those who can only emote and can't think rationally scream bloody murder when that's proposed even though doing so would benefit the poor.
I'd rather cut food stamps than health insurance for the poor.
Of course, then they'd end up eating what college students eat when broke: ramen. Not exactly a heath-boosting meal.
What is ironic is the same guy(s) on here that are defending Mulvaney and ragging on type II diabetics would be the same guy(s) who scream bloody murder when Michele Obama wants to improve school lunches.
In the U.S., another party would just be another bunch of grifters all taking graft from lobbyists AND enjoying medical coverage the likes of which you'll never have access to.
Be careful what you wish for, the swamp is obviously already too large to drain effectively. What you need is a smarter citizenry, as illustrated by all those other countries having figured this chit out decades ago........guess you're doomed bro.
Smarter? More like less masochistic. I have a hard time believing that people really don't know what they're allowing.
It is. One just needs to scale their standard of living to their income, and not live beyond their means.
To live with roommates where you can walk/bike to work sounds a lot like living in a city. And renting a room in a city is often as much or more than renting a small place in a rural area.
So, living expenses can only be cut so far. $5/hr isn't going to be enough no matter how much someone's optimised their living expenses.
- Low/no minimum wage
- No effort to make health care affordable
- Healthy population
Pick two.
