But the suggestion by saying 'he owns the golf course' -- implies that those who own the companies, are in charge don't have to play by the rules. They can do whatever they please......
That is kind of smarmy......

It's Trump's golf course, which the OP didn't tell us. He can do want he wants it's private property.

Golf is a funny game with definite rules and then a 'code of conduct' for the game and for behaviour on the course.
It's the way it has been forever....and you would be hard pressed to find a real golfer that doesn't abide by those rules and that conduct.
Except for Trump......he owns it so he can do whatever he pleases......hmmmm. No appreciation for the rules, the conduct....and in truth - for other golfers.
The reason that carts aren't allowed on the greens is because they damage the greens. Greens are highly maintained and lovingly and painstakingly curated. Driving a cart on them ruins them. That's just a discourtesy to his customers.
It's really trivial to most but indicative of Trump and his character.
If it was one isolated incident folks wouldn't even talk about it. They would brush it off as Trump being a bull in a china shop and not understanding...but this is consistent with how he does things...pushing another world leader to get to the front kind of thing. He's Trump -- who cares is his attitude.
Exactly what I was going to say. Mr. Trump should know that said carts create depressions on the green, which, of course, affects putting.
The Trump golf memberships cost a pretty penny. Those that pay expect to have world-class golfing. You cannot have such with people driving on the greens.
I no longer golf, but I do know that dedicated golfers get very upset when this type of thing happens (at the course I used to frequent, usually it would be some young boy allowed to drive the cart by his father; people have been expelled from courses for such behavior).
Under your theory, it doesn't matter how much they pay, because the Donald can run roughshod over his course and violate his own rules even if it ruins the experience for his members.
Once again it sounds like Trump. He is above the rules like he feels he is above the law.
My goodness.
Trump rides a golf cart on his own golf course, which is private property that he owns, and you make the broad jump to conclusions that he is breaking the law.

I grew up playing public courses on SI (LaTourette, Silver lake and South Shore) let me say that those guys on those course may have kicked your butt if you did that.
True -- but that still makes your behaviour disgustingly obnoxious. It just does.
In your opinion. We all know what opinions are worth.
And even you said that it was ridiculous to even be complaining about it.
Furthermore, the OP didn't even tell us that Trump owned the golf course. What else about that story has been left out? Maybe there was good reason for it.
