Frank, a Pulitzer Prize finalist in 2012 while at USA Today, had reported that the Senate Intelligence Committee was investigating a “$10-billion Russian investment fund whose chief executive met with a member of President Donald Trump’s transition team four days before Trump’s inauguration.”
In addition to retracting its story, CNN also apologized to Anthony Scaramucci, an adviser to Trump during the presidential campaign and a member of his transition team’s executive committee...
It is a big deal if the CNN bosses are going after the source and/or reporter who dared write a fake news story. It shows CNN's intolerance for fake news.
If ALL of their stories were fake and easily proven to be fake -- they wouldn't be making a big deal of this.
It would be a miracle if all news organizations got everything absolutely 100% correct. That doesn't happen in any other endeavor on earth. In fact, in some organizations if you don't fail now and again, it is a sign you're not trying hard enough stuff.
They retracted it, all is well.
You can apologize for them all you want and it will go NOWHERE.
CNN will CONTINUE to post things it "hears" without investigating to see if is true or not, just as as they have been doing ever since its inception, as long as it is against repubs.

Not true. What I am defending is not the story, which is apparently not true and been retracted, but CNN itself. News organizations make errors, but the credible ones will issue retractions. I don't like broad-brush attacks on news organizations like CNN because they are integral to the political health of the nation.
"because they are integral to the political health of the nation."
With their HISTORY, they are part of what is bring our nation DOWN.
How many times do you believe a liar in your personal life?
CNN has been caught so many times that they do NOT have any credibility.
From what I read, it t wasn't Breitbart it was Buzzfeed -- but they both begin with the later 'B'.
