There are 22 million of you who don't want healthcare. I'm sure at least one of you is lurking here. Tell me why you don't want healthcare.

I can think of quite a few posters on this very site who would not want health care.

But I think your terminology is deceptive, or perhaps disingenuous.

I believe the current debates are about health insurance coverage. Not health care. People can choose to get health care or not - the issue is whether or not insurance coverage will pick up a portion of the costs.

I believe that everyone should have health insurance coverage of some kind. I don't believe it's a "right".

Or managing the costs?

I suppose it depends on one's perspective.

ETA: and there are several who absolutely DO NOT want health care. Go read the Health and Wellness forum - Alternative Medicine section. You'll see.

Health insurance is not health care.

How many young and healthy people were uninsured before Obamacare's mandates forced them to buy health insurance that they maybe didn't want or need?

I didn't have health insurance until I was in my 30's...

I survived.

It was a calculated risk sure....but it was also throwing money away as far as I was concerned at the time.

Who are you to tell me I can't make that decision on my own?

I'm sure if you had been diagnosed with cancer or some other condition which would have disqualified you form the insurance market you would be one of the first ones on the other side....No one is forced to do something smart and buy health insurance, you can pay a small penalty and stick it to the man....

It's amazing people are up in arms b/c the government wants to help them take care of one of the most important aspects of their existence, but nobody is fighting to get rid of auto insurance, the government forces you to buy that, and GOP supports that- so I guess they are all commie statists too huh?

I did converse with someone on another board who refused to buy insurance. Her claim was because of her pre-existing conditions she'd have to pay a lot and get nothing. So she was spending her money on keeping her horses.

I did not want it nor saw the need- when I was young- - was healthy and didn't need it-BUT things change- I can see that with grand's-
I think if they do NOT want it at all- fine- opt out, and do not show your face around a DR or medical facility unless willing to pay in FULL for the services- I have no problem with that-
What they doing is not "volunteer" OP OUT-- is it??
