well, nobody has said her looks should be off limits. She never attacked HIS looks.
Attacking people's looks is always petty, in my humble opinion. No matter who does the "attacking."
I agree with you. However, we don't get to make the rules.
We can't even chose the referees. We are citizens slightly above the standards of Rome.
We are why the circus exist. The politicians and donors have us right where they want us. Fighting among ourselves while they steal us blind.

Maturity you say? That is comical reading all of the replies in this thread.
I won't disagree with that comment but that doesn't excuse, rationalize or make the PResident's personal attacks on someone's appearance any more acceptable.
This is your only argument. i.e. Cast insults at those you disagree with.
Isn't that what you condemn Trump for doing?
I rest my case.

I'm pretty sure that if Trump had made some offhand comments about Mika and other liberals being like "cult worshippers" we'd all call it par for the course.
But, he implied she'd had a facelift and was dripping blood all over the place out in public so he turned her down to join him at dinner.
Misogyny and lies all rolled into one tweet.
There is a difference.
I'm not sure whether you don't see it or you just don't care.

I mean come on, I realize this is par for the course for him and not the biggest of his issues, but this is just so disgusting and unpresidential.
An official statement by a sitting US president is insulting a woman's looks and intelligence, because she was critical of him on the morning show he claims not to watch.
How can you people condone this behavior? How does this dignify the office of the Presidency?
The more we see of Trump and his behavior the more you begin to realize how sick this guy really is. This goes beyond some minor neurosis, behavior like this suggest some truly aberrant psychology, perhaps in a class by itself. Unfortunately this is not the first time that we've seen this, looking back through history there are plenty of instances of twisted personalities in leaders, since one of the characteristics is a lust for power.
As far as why his remaining hard line supporters condone it - there is a cult-like devotion to a populist leader like Trump. No matter how illogical or self destructive, they will continue to follow him and admire him regardless of the consequences.

Geez, not everybody who voted Trump enjoys his random moments of craziness.
Some of us are capable of criticizing him when he deserves it.
He's so far beyond deserving criticism the mere fact that any of you guys can still support him is astounding. He is the worst thing to happen to the US at least in modern history.
