Only time will tell.
I know Blue Wall crumbled; Red Wall held. We also know 1,000 plus Dems lost seats state or fed since 2010. We know 2018 Senate map is tragic for Dems. We also know GOP has 33 govs, and most have very good approval ratings.

Analogy: I am a Met fan who would rather his team be in Nationals spot (1st place) than Mets 3rd place spot. I'd rather have control of all chambers as GOP does, than be a small minority as Dems are right now.

Using your Mets analogy, your farm system sucks.

The Mets one does. The GOP has a well stocked one, courtesy of 1,000 Democratic seats lost this decade, and 33 GOP govs. We truly appreciate the last 10 years. Could not have done it if DNC were sane.

while the farm league argument makes sense in and of itself, no one is running for and winning the presidency from a state senate seat. And your new farm league hasnt actually produced anyone yet.

Trump didnt come from it, and certainly none of the people who ran against him either.

Christie would have been the shining star of that league if he had not crashed and burned, but who else ???

The farm system comment I was referring to was regarding replacement voters. The R's have lots of potential candidates in the lower minors of politics, but they have yet to figure out how to expand their base beyond the 50s and above blue collars and evangelicals. You can only ride the existing grievance wing of the GOP for so long.

42 here. My circle of friends, which is big, doesn't buy the far left nonsense you guys seem to think is popular. More old liberals are thankfully dying off than conservatives. Remember, that generation thought FDR was great.

GenX will be here for a long, long time. And we aren't LWNJs.

Except that farm league changeover = 1,000 fewer minor leaguers for DNC to utilize; hence they are dependent solely on 70 plus year old geezers. Most of the 16 who lost to Trump were 15-20 years younger than DNC typical choices.

Gee, young folks are more liberal than old folks! Whoda thunk it? But guess what, as those young folks turn into old folks they become more conservative. So if you think the left wing will win simply because of demographics, please keep believing it, and we won't see another D in the White House in your life time...

Hoot

I might not. I'm old.

But if you're a conservative, demographics are not your friend.

Where are you getting that???

Old liberals turn to dust too, but the groups declining aren't predominantly liberal.

What groups are falling with each 4 year cycle?

1. Non-college whites (R+37)
2. Christian evangelicals (R+80)

What groups are gaining?

1. White college grads (R+3)
2. Minority groups (D + 74)

Also, every generation is more diverse than the one that preceded it.
