Ugh, I hate prudes. No idea why Americans have such an issue with sexuality and nudity.

If you don't like it, then don't go to gay-themed events in San Francisco. See how that works? It's pretty basic.

My gay friends have all said the pride parades are embarrassing to them. Most gays are regular people with lawns, jobs, and families who have said the lewd and flamboyant behavior at these parades are a negative reflection on them.

SF is pretty awesome. Expensive as all hell these days (wasn't always this crazy) - but it's still pretty great.

Gays don't think they're any more "special" than anyone else. That's kind of the point: equality - they get treated as anyone else (as they should be).

Different strokes. Charleston is a cool enough city, too, by the way - but is definitely not perfect by any means.

SF's pride event has kind of become a giant party, and I'd wager is likely made up of majority heterosexuals. Not that there is anything wrong with a majority of people being heterosexuals at it - I do see your point.

I'm not sure I'd call it "embarrassing", but things do get a bit over the top and can have nothing to do with Gay Pride (usually just becoming another reason to go get hammered).

The one here in Chicago is nothing but drunk 20-something year old college girls from the suburbs. It's just another excuse to get drunk... As if they really needed an excuse.

Interesting. I've gone to many & have yet to see anyone having sex or oral sex. Must just be one of your fantasies.

Not that I care about those (I'm fine with it, as I'm fine with this) - but the irony associated with faux outrage in this single direction is incredibly thick.

Violence to me, which is celebrated and not censored very much is far worse than non-nude (or even nude) dancing.

Again, our priorities are so incredibly warped.

* ultimately, this is a parenting issue when it comes to what a child is allowed/not allowed to view.
I bet if the roles were reversed (female dancing in front of a young boy), there wouldn't be this outrage.

For every liberal parent that does something dumb there's a conservative parent that does something dumb.

No side owns that team.

Yeah, but are straight people embarrassed about the behavior at similar outlets, like Spring Break or Sturgis? Very lewd and flamboyant things happen at those events too.
