The real question is, what did the Russians expect in return? I have yet to see a Trump supporter address that question. Did they think the Russians were going to provide this info and ask for nothing in return? Are they really that naive?

Trump mentioned forthcoming information on Hillary at a rally, the same night as the Russion Collusion meeting that JR coordinated. It's possible that Trump joined the meeting, or was briefed on it and/or he had other discussions on the matter. The Goldstone guy DID mention contacting Trump in the emails, so maybe he had direct discussion with Trump.
I f we are going to say impeach or remove trump based on personal gain from other countries, then the person who lost the election, WHO DID IT in an even grander scale, should also be looked at....and she certainly should not be looked at as a replacement for donnie

This would be like Obama getting caught up in some scandal and yelling "But, but, Romney and McCain, Bob Dole, Barry Goldwater, etc."
The issue here is not only that Trump colluded with Russia, but also that Russia exerts influence over his policy-making, which is not a far-fetched assumption considering the way he's barred American press from a meeting with Russia (while allowing Russian press), bashed NATO in public statements, discussed easing sanctions on Russia without getting anything in return, etc.
More likely, they don't want to be involved in the controversy. They are afraid of Putin killing them for being involved. You know, like maybe the guy just happens to die of "natural causes" next week, or possibly the guy dies in a one car accident that nobody saw. Also they don't want to incriminate themselves. Likely Putin has directed people what to say and they are going along with it, for fear of their life.

So you admit that the Trump campaign was willing to trade easing sanctions for dirt on Clinton to help them win the election.
And you continue to maintain that there's nothing wrong with that?
Basically you are saying that any candidate should be able to sell influence to foreign nations in exchange for meddling in our elections.

Oh, not this old tired false claim again. Crimea's "election" was about as rigged as it was possible to be. See-through glass ballot boxes, voter intimidation, and a choice that read something like "Do you want to leave, or do you not want to stay?"

Back to the topic at hand...which is not Russia's illegal occupation of and claimed annexation of Crimea, which is legally and in the eyes of all the world but Russia, still part of Ukraine.
It's being called a "dangle" by former and current counter espionage experts. The Russians probe to see if the Trump campaign has interest and can be compromised. Jr. took the bait and there will be many more shoes to drop as McCain has said. As for the Russian lawyer, she is a long time political operative who is well known in DC. She lies as easily as she breathes.
I wonder how good old finger pointing (whichever way the wind blows) Johnny McCain (R) AZ is going to explain knowing this Russian lady? She's got pictures of herself in McCains office on her facebook page.
