Gunman kills 8 at Jerusalem seminary - Yahoo! News (broken link)

Gunman kills 8 at Jerusalem seminary

By ARON HELLER and STEVEN GUTKIN, Associated Press Writer

JERUSALEM - A gunman entered the library of a rabbinical seminary and opened fire on a crowded nighttime study session Thursday, killing eight people and wounding nine before he was slain, police and rescue workers said. It was the first major militant attack in Jerusalem in more than four years.

Hamas militants in the Gaza Strip praised the operation in a statement, and thousands of Palestinians took to the streets of Gaza to celebrate.

Innocent Israelis killed at a religious site. Praise from Hamas. Palestinians in the street celebrating. This makes me absolutely sick.

Default Mass Murder - What Would You Do?

Say you were in class in Georgetown University, when a single gunman with a rifle and handgun busted in and started shooting up the place; say the library.

Well security gets this guy - takes him out - say after a couple of minutes. He only manages to kill eight students and wound a dozen others.

It is discovered that the gunman is a leagal resident of Washington D.C. However, he was acting in support of say the Taliban....

WHAT WOULD YOU DO??
AS A PRIVATE CITIZEN - AS A MEMBER OF THE US GOVERNMENT - AS A FAMILY MEMBER -AS A PARENT

Become politically (and socially) active.
And if this doesn't work move to the Netherlands (because of the political climate there).

This was of course yet one more in an endless stream of mindless barbarity and savagery. While the gunman was shot and killed it will of course not be the last bit of retaliation that is the perpetual cycle of violence in the Middle East.

As this post from the OP points out how it makes a person sick that people would celebrate such horrendous acts....

While many will also be rightly sickened and condemn this terrible act, no one will condemn the celebration that will follow the retaliation that WILL occur. From the same Yahoo article:

Quote:
Police said an Israeli soldier in the area then shot the man dead. After the shooting, hundreds of seminary students demonstrated outside the building, screaming for revenge and chanting, "Death to Arabs."
So when terrorist, suspected terrorist, civilian men, women, and children are killed in the upcoming retaliation, will you all be so sickened at the inhumanity of it all or will you too celebrate the death of a few more Arabs?

I guess you will have to celebrate since we all help to fund both sides of this barbarous inhumanity with out tax dollars. Time to end funding and subsidizing of this never ending madness and senseless waste of life.

Wise words, TnHilltopper. I wonder if these same seminary students, studying the word of God, demonstrate against the hardships perpetrated by their government on the innocent citizens of Gaza; lack of medical care for innocent children, lack of jobs for their fathers, lack of suitable housing, etc.

To you, lilypad, I need to say that these are not mongrels. They are human beings who have lost their homes and their country. Your lack of sensitivity is unthinkable .

Yes, what happened in Jerusalem is cruel and also unthinkable. But so are the comments of those who are only able to see one side to this never-ending conflict which, as
TnHilltopper, says is supported by our own funds.
