You've never put dying pet to sleep because it was suffering?

What makes you think yourself qualified to define what is honorable and selfless for someone else?

Sadly the obscenities of war are not the only reason for suicide in the military. The personal experience of my son was because of a dear John letter while on a ship. Or just being stationed on a ship was the experience of the other. None of the suicides in the 3 years my sons were overseas were because of the "obscenities of war." Those are the ones I am talking about.

Unlike what you believe, the world is not completely subjective.

You will never understand what others feel unless you are in their shoes. How can you teach a blind person "color"? You cannot.

They need HELP!

Threads like this are great because they expose the people who are either :

A) Too dumb to be taken seriously
B) Too psychopathic to be taken seriously
B) Just here to troll, so there is no reason to take anything else they say seriously

Basically threads like these make it clear who's opinions can safely be ignored because they have... poor thought processes.

I'm sorry to hear that, I didn't realize this was such an issue outside of combat zones although the perspective of age makes me agree with your point of these young men & women being placed in situations they may not be equipped to deal with.

By one definition of an animal: a living organism that feeds on organic matter, typically having specialized sense organs and nervous system and able to respond rapidly to stimuli.

How is a human anything but an animal?

And how is it any more humane to keep some long suffering animal alive, hooked up to all manner of tubes and wires, having no hope for improvement, than to afford them a painless transition into whatever comes next?

Thanks for your post. This was my point entirely and it is sad that it is so prevalent in our society even outside of the military amongst our young people. I am guilty of having made it very easy for my kids when they were young and tried to shield them from the ugliness of the world. Because of where I worked I definitely watched them like a hawk.
