The disconnect between the massive amount of private and public aid and the poverty, disease and homelessness that still plague the country raises a question that critics say is too difficult to answer: Where did all that money go? "

Then again we need to look to bill and hillary for an answer to hatian refugees

"Haitian activists protested outside of the Clinton Foundation in New York over the loss of “billions of dollars” that was meant to help rebuild after the devastating 2010 earthquake.
The activists are claiming the money was stolen through the Haiti Reconstruction Commission that was headed by Bill Clinton. In January 2015, the Clinton Foundation was the target of protests for wasting more than $10 billion and awarding contracts to non-Haitian companies."

You talk like Canada did nothing.

"Following the earthquake, the Canadian Forces (CF) dispatched approximately 2,000 personnel from the Army, Navy and Air Force to provide search and rescue, medical care, humanitarian assistance, such as food and water delivery, and security and engineering services. CF personnel provided nearly 1.5 million meals, 2.6 million litres of potable water and medical care for over 22,000 people in the aftermath of the earthquake."

Why Trump
Why Trump

For generations when some kid in a poor country thought of a remarkable new invention or business idea it was America where they went to create that invention and start that business. And around 40% of America's patents and high technology companies were created by immigrants.

But now when these foreign kids dream of new inventions and businesses it will not be America where they go to file their patent, create their invention and start their business (it will be Canada.)

And Trumps immigration policies are also a threat to America's scientific community, scientific innovation, the "US Brand", ex.ex.

Trump's and the republicans view of immigration is simplistic and based on fear and hatred, and such a simplistic view ignores any real logic and any real thought (and it threatens to decrease America's business and scientific innovation by HUGE amounts.)

You cannot seem to grasp the irony of this very thread with your typical response serving as just more proof positive.

Where does this come from?

I think I know.

It comes from Canadians stating facts about Canada in reaction to some mistruths about Canada.

For example in this thread post number #10. Suggesting that the US " share " something with Canada, meaning Canada hasn't given or been involved in that Haitian earthquake.

When we respond to a particular statement, especially when that statement is disrespectful to Canada, and the facts tend to show Canada in a more positive light, we get called arrogant.

"Oh stop it with the passive aggressive song & dance. You Canadians sneer down your noses at Americans and your post history here proves it. You ain't fooling nobody."

I go this from an anonymous messenger.

Canadians do not sneer down at Americans. Canadians usually have friends and family, as I do, that are Americans.

What Canadian do do, and get criticized for is challenging American posters who want nothing more than to slam Canada. Post some facts and we can debate those.

You were provided a link to the article, maybe you should read it.
Canada should send them all to the NW Territories and keep the ones who make it and deport the ones who cannot.

We have always had illegals ( in fact the largest group of illegals working in Canada are Americans ). Our process of entry is the same as it always has been in this regard.

There is no hypocrisy.
You have lived in a cave then, if you haven't heard the drumbeat-narrative about Americans being "mean" and "selfish" and Canadians being "nice" and "compassionate". You have absolutely been living in a cave for thirty years (at least).
But what do I know: grandparents Canadian; wife Canadian; sister-in-law Canadian; many Canadian friends and co-workers; dozens of trips throughout Canada; fifty years of watching/listening to CBC (being ten miles from the border, we pulled in the signal even before cable or Sirius radio). Etc. etc. etc.

Pure, unadulterated hypocrisy...........lol

(Oh, and pay attention: we're well past "hundreds" and up into the thousands. Once it hits tens of thousands--probably next year--Canada will find out just how fun it is to have all this wonderful illegal immigration..............seeing how you only have 35 million people....)
Enjoy!!
