But America accepts about a million legal immigrants per year. Far more than any developed country, and about 4x as many as Canada accepts. So you have to consider that when you're making judgments of who's doing 'their share' as well.

Not wishing misfortune on anyone. Canadians usually criticize America for doing enough. Then try to make the US look bad when we are finally saying enough is enough with the hordes of illegals.

If you want to welcome them with open arms. Great! be our guest! But don't act like the US hasn't taken in millions of illegals and refugees .

Our country and its citizens are being robbed daily at the expense of taking care of other countries and their citizens . When you do open your wide arms , the illegals usually take advantage of it.

You will sacrifice your social services, schools, and medical services at the expense of taking care of these economic migrants. In return you get crappier social services and higher taxes.

Then it's not the same thing. Granting Permanent Resident Status is not the same as refugees.....

Surely, but it's people coming into your country and living there nonetheless. We're not talking about visitors or tourists, they are coming for a reason, usually economic. And America welcomes them.

Also refugees are not allowed access to any kind of health services.

You don't take care of your refugees??!! Meanies.

RCMP says it has intercepted 3,800 asylum seekers crossing illegally into Quebec since Aug. 1 - Montreal - CBC News

Wait til it gets up around 10 or 20,000.............THEN you guys are going to find out how much fun unfettered immigration can be!! lolol

I'm fascinated by the fact that in Canada they stop people for illegal crossings and then arrest them. So they control the immigration issue and people imply that's not a good thing. Isn't that what the USA goal is -- to be able to control who crosses the border legally and illegally.

If not, it should be.

Admirable to see a country that has a much larger border where folks can cross (the USA/Canada border is long) than the American/Mexican border is able to manage it without a wall.

Interesting don't you think?

Doesn't it bother you that if Canada has 3800 assylum seekers and you are predicting another 17,000K that those people (many Haitians) snuck in to your country without being arrested and processed?.

Well, let's put MEXICO just south of Canada, and THEN see what happens!

We will remember to ask Canadians in 5-10 or 20 years if they thought this was a good idea.
