Do We Really Want Mike Pence to Be President?
By Stephen Rodrick

Mr. Pence was elected governor of Indiana in 2012 with less than 50 percent of the vote. Many of the politicos.... described him as ambitious for the sake of ambition, with no ideological compass other than his evangelical Christianity... He certainly couldn’t stress his 12 years in Congress — an earlier congressional bid exploded when he used campaign funds to pay his mortgage — where he passed exactly zero bills that became law... [In his debate] PolitiFact ruled that over 40 percent of Mr. Pence’s statements were either false or mostly false.

I don't know. It's kind of a pick your poison thing. I would prefer Pence on foreign policy because he seems more level and less likely to get us into a major, possibly even nuclear war because of recklessness. For domestic policy, we are pretty much screwed until 2021.

Well, it's not great. But it's far better than Trump's score.

I don't know who is the "we" in the article title.

But whether Trump remains as president or is impeached in favor of Pence, "we" will be the congressional Rs. And I have no doubt that if you took a straw poll right this minute, a solid majority of congressional Rs would choose Pence in a heartbeat.
