I think Trump has simply succeeded in creating a loyal sheep following who will not ever question anything he does and will go on the attack for him, even to the degree of approving media censorship if Trump can get away with it.
The media has turned from providing news, to advocating political ideologies, which I find is worse than anything Trump has done to them. Media outlets like CNN and Fox peddle opinion pieces that cover half the front page, mixed between the news, all purposely so people will be manipulated just as advertisers do. Just how many damn Cillizza articles can be put out in one day?
The right is simply reaping what they sowed. almost 20 years of FOX acting as a propaganda tool for the right. Spreading lies, twisting truth and endlessly attacking leading members of the Democrats. Almost twenty years of this nonsense.
Now CNN has decided to be the FOX of the center left. They are doing exactly what Fox has done for decades. But even bigger is MSNBC, they now have the highest ratings, and the best demographics. And they are doing it with a better less argumentative format that is driving the best ratings in MSNBC history!
For the left this is the best news in decades. We finally have a level playing field, we finally have big powerful outlets playing the same blame game bs that the GOP and FOX have had for decades. just 2-5 years of this and the GOP will be a shadow of its former self. there are literally 3 times as many if not 4 times as many dems/lefties watching political cable news night after night. You have no idea how many door knockers the dems have lined up, there are more democrats signed up for the next elections than at any point in at least 40 years.
And frankly Trump did not do this, Mercer, Murdoch, Koch, Rove etc did this. They decided to try to push the USA to the right of right and to do it with the power of money and media.
