Still WAY too early to tell. However it does seem to me that his choice for FEMA director knows what he is doing, and we are seeing some military choppers arrive to help. At this point (to me) things seem to be OK. We will know once the water stops rising.
I've been watching the news off and on all day and have seen no signs of hysteria. I watch CNN; what are you watching that is exhibiting such hysteria?

I've seen some commentary, both pro and con, about Trump's little speech after his press conference yesterday, but the only hysteria I've seen has been on here.

Huh?
What on God's Green Earth do you think will happen to influence what Trump said and did?
Never mind...I don't even want to know what goes on in some minds.
He's basically damned if he does and damned if he doesn't.
Too little? He doesn't care.
Too much? He's politicizing a natural disaster.
Criticism today was he didn't show enough "empathy" towards the victims.
How many of the victims were watching TV at the time to hear and give a wet slap about his "empathy"?
What they care about is rescue efforts, their families and eventually cleanup and rebuilding.
Time will tell how the victims judge Trumps performance on Harvey.
The media's predictable, infantile pablum is irrelevant.
