Rasmussen poll of Likely voters (not random people) show that even Republicans like Trump doing whatever it takes to get the job done.

Republicans (72%) are even more enthusiastic about the president working with congressional Democrats than Democrats (62%) and voters not affiliated with either major party (63%) are.

Trump isn't an ideologue so if people think calling him a former Dem hurts him, they are wrong. Most people who voted for Trump, in all parties, aren't ideologues. They want results, dammit!

It was the only logical progression; especially with so many on the right against him!

The right's attempt to flip this as "Trump is open-minded and willing to "reach across the aisle" is hilarious LOL

most republican politicians were furious about it. But leave it for the fake news conservative media to spin into a positive for Trump.

If Trump wants to cross over and start enacting the Democrat's agenda, I won't complain. He gave them exactly what they asked for in raising the debt ceiling short term, which will put the Republicans in a bind at the end of the year and give the Democrats even more leverage.

If those are the "results" you want, OP, I'm right there with you. I suspect the GOP doesn't agree though.

You made a good point albeit not intentionally.

What GOP politicians want and what the rank and file Republican or Trump voters want are often two different things and the have been since Trump got into the race, this is nothing new.

Most of the GOP in congress did not want Trump to get the nomination And now he has done the unthinkable and bypassed them completely he has diluted their power, of course they are not going to like it.

Its a good sign that GOP voters are fine with this. It would be even better if the democrat voters did the same thing. We need to come together in this country.

As a Trump supporter I was not interested in the democrat or GOP platforms or status quo positions on issues.
I will be happy to vote against anyone in the primary that objects to the Trump agenda.

Well Obama, and the Dems never reached out to Republicans. They just obstructed everything, never compromised, and stood fast on their far left, anti American agenda. The people saw through them and elected a Republican. How refreshing.

It's the Dems (as usual) reaching out to Trump.

This is indeed what most people want. Will Trump succeed at it is the only question.

agreed, but they are doing a good job of reframing the story to suit their needs.

the simple truth is that Trump betrayed his party and gave the dems a great deal that may badly hurt the gop later...

but mitch and the boys are doing a great spin to make themselves look better.
