  6. Republicans fell for Trump's promise that Obamacare would be repealed on Trump's first day
  7. Republicans support preachers and churches that have sold themselves to politicians
  8. Republicans deny others basic human rights all while calling themselves God-fearing

  12. Republicans elected someone in Trump who doesn't believe in anything the party claims to stand for (deficit reduction, God, etc.)
  13. Republicans believe Fox news hosts are looking out for them when really they're just exploiting anger for money
  14. Republicans fell for weapons of mass destruction
  15. Republicans fell for Trump who will go down as one of the worst presidents ever
  16. Republicans claim to be conservative but have spent everyday this year defending Trump's non-conservative policies and behavior
Why are Republican voters so easily manipulated?

Nice post, thanks.

The answer is in your own list: #5.

Republicans tend to disdain education. Republicans in government tend to want to cut education funding, and Republican voters often speak disdainfully of educated people. And that's the way Republican elected officials want it. They want an ignorant, intellectually lazy electorate that can be easily swayed by emotion, without facts.

Both sides Repubs and Dems believe what re-enforces their view point, Facts are rarely a requirement for some. Is you point that Americans are easily led by the nose? Is this news to anyone.

I'm pretty sure it's news to the OP.

High ego investment and low introspection in regards to any dogmatically held beliefs leave people of all stripes ripe for manipulation. Politics and religion have been exploiting this for millennia.

According to most of the major fake news purveyors of the 2016 election yes conservatives are gullible.

You and Trump have the same instincts. No wonder he keeps failing to get his agenda through. You say "I'm pretty sure the OP blah blah blah." Trump says "I'm pretty sure John McCain and the Republicans will vote my way." Fail and fail.

Point of the thread. Republicans are gullible. If you do not understand the word gullible get a dictionary.
