So he was the only person in America without a political opinion (especially lately)? That's hard to believe. Did the man vote?
The brother said he did not have any political or religious views "that he knew of". Why is everyone just taking that as "I guess he did not have any extremist religious or political views because the brother did not know of any".
It could very well be that he hid these views from his family because they did not agree with them?

If you mean prior to them doing a shooting, the number is likely very high. If you do just a bit of studying of inner city crime you learn that a very large portion of the violent crimes are committed by a fairly small # of perpetrators. This is true in every city. I don't recall the exact numbers, but in NYC, for example, something like 1000 people commit something like 60% of the crimes in the city (recalling #'s from memory). This in a city of 8 million people. These are people who have serious problems and keep committing the same stuff over and over again and manage not to get caught very often, and when they do get caught it's usually for minor offenses. Very likely a lot of these crimes they commit are shootings. So yes, it is almost certain that most of the shooters in Chicago are felons, but some of them might not be "convicted" felons.
A total of 93,642 individuals (3.9 %) had at least one violent conviction. The distribution of convictions was highly skewed; 24,342 persistent violent offenders (1.0 % of the total population) accounted for 63.2 % of all convictions. Persistence in violence was associated with male sex (OR 2.5), personality disorder (OR 2.3), violent crime conviction before age 19 (OR 2.0), drug-related offenses (OR 1.9), nonviolent criminality (OR 1.9), substance use disorder (OR 1.9), and major mental disorder (OR 1.3).
This got me thinking about a similar " Lone Wolf" case from a few years back. Jeffrey Alan Lash in Palisades Park died after a brief illness and thought he had been poisoned. He had told some people and his girl friend that he worked for the special ops in the government but kept his background a secret and had little if any contact with his family. His body was left in a car and then discovered. He had a huge cache of weapon, some 1200 firearms and over a million rounds of ammunition. They never said what he did or how he was able to buy all these weapons or if he actually did own all of them.
The Deep State.... crazier than the most insane gun nut. And way more dangerous.

You are correct, tho - very rare that any modern battle has 600 wounded and dead in a day.
These is very little "political" about this. It's about money...in the Big Picture. As has been said, Capitalism will sell you the rope to hang yourself with. It will also sell you the guns - unlimited amounts - to kill others with.
Those here who yell and scream and won't even discuss sane solutions - that's a sickness, IMHO. For whatever reason they have decided that American lives don't matter much compared to unbridled Capitalism.
Maybe you would have a point if we had anything even near "unbridled capitalism" but that is a VERY generous description of what our version of capitalism is.

He would have to be very crafty to hide his true feelings from the investigators looking into everything he has written or said. The question is, will we hear what those results tell them? If it comes to be that he was a hidden raving leftist, will you hear about it on CNN? If it turns out he was a raving conservative, will you hear about it on FOX?

I am sure that the investigation will uncover his "reasoning" behind such a sick plot. I would also hope that every news channel is honest with the reporting. Even after it is discovered people will still fight over it and make excuses or denials for whatever irrational reasoning he had.
There's a video that may show a second gun being fired from a room much lower than the 32nd floor of that hotel. I wish they had cell phones back when JFK was shot.

Is it possible I wonder if the second muzzle flash that people are reporting is actually just a reflection of the 32nd story flash bouncing back off another building?

The whole story is very fishy. Amazed how many people believe what the press tells them. Stories coming in of both the acoustics and the wounds themselves pointing to multiple shooters.
