Yup.

That's a good thing, by the way.

That doesn't make any sense when applied to guns.

No, does the government pay market value for illegal cannabis it confiscates? No.
Not sure, I've never bought weed but sure grew a lot for a zero expense

The only way we can do that is by educating ourselves and then getting rid of the people in Washington that refuse to follow the Constitution. Over half of them think that the Supreme Court is more powerful than they are. They're wrong. The Legislative Branch was given the most power.

Most of them believe Roe v. Wade is "the law of the land." It isn't. The Supreme Court cannot make law. Roe v. Wade was an opinion. Ask any lawyer. Courts don't make rulings. They issue opinions. Opinions are not law. There has never been a law passed that legalizes abortion.

The Supreme Court has even gone so far as to decide for itself the limits of it's own authority, and also the limits of the authority of the other Branches. But the Supreme Court is a Branch of the Federal Government, and it's authority is what the Constitution says it is, not what the Court says it is.

That's how far we have deviated from the Constitution. That's how corrupt the Federal Government has become. It is the duty of the States to reign in the Federal Government. It was the States, through the Constitution (a Contract between the States), that created the Federal Government. The Federal Government has no power other than that which was delegated to it by the States, which is described as "limited and defined."
The Constitution was meant to be amended as circumstances changed.

Anyway we don't need to ban all guns, just the ones capable of putting out large numbers of rounds in a very short period of time. Repealing the second amendment may not even be necessary to accomplish that.

Amen! The number of Canadians here who insistently insert themselves into our national business while simultaneously and smugly congratulating themselves for their Canadian morality is just the most quirky and laughable thing. You Canucks crow endlessly over your superiority, and vocally thank your stars for living in Canada, yet continue to insert yourself into our affairs as if your opinion is also something that should really matter to us. Make up your minds, you crazy kids.

Worked for Australia, can work here too.
No more cars, planes, boats, pressure cookers, fireworks, gasoline, matches, bug spray?

I guess you missed my point. The Second Amendment does not give us the right to keep and bear arms. That right already exists. Therefore it cannot be taken away.

some interesting stats and graphs regarding gun violence in America vs other places.

IMO we need stricter gun laws. What we have right now isn't working and the amount of gun deaths is staggering.
We have plenty of laws, once that aren't working. What we need is stricter sentencing. No plea bargains on gun related convictions. Mandatory 15 years for a committing a crime with a firearm, 20 if a person is killed. Caught breaking a Federal Firearm law , mandatory 10 years. Regardless of age.

Negligence with a firearm, IE kid or family member gets ahold of it and shoots someone, mandatory 1 year and 5 years restriction of 2A rights.
