Let's see ...

- He was in favor of free trade. In fact, NAFTA was, to a large extent, his brain child.
- He was in favor of large-scale immigration, particularly from Mexico and Latin America.
- He granted an amnesty to illegal immigrants

It's tough to say how he would fall on some other issues of today, but probably those issues listed above by themselves would make him be considered a RINO in the eyes of many Trump fans.

I think it's safe to say that the Right has moved to the Right of Reagan. He is still right wing no doubt about it,but the GOP has moved so far to the right, they are about to fall off the cliff.

It depends. To the established Republican party, no. To those who call anyone who disagrees with Trump on any topic (Corker, Graham, Murkowski, Kasich, McCain, etc.) regardless of their political ideology a RINO, yes.

This quote here reinforces what I said above:

https://thinkprogress.org/you-will-n...-c46400a2b47c/
Quote:
Thirty-five years ago, during a primary debate between Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush, both former presidents spoke with compassion about immigrants living in the United States when they were asked whether the U.S. should allow the children of undocumented immigrants to go to public schools...

Reagan responded in kind, stating in part, “Rather than talking about putting up a fence, why don’t we work out some recognition of our mutual problems?” “Open the borders both ways,” he added.
And there's a video showing the exchange.

If ANY republican said today that we should not build a fence along the Mexican border, they would be branded a traitor by many Trump fans.

Actually, a good question...I think Reagan's stand on immigration alone would qualify him for RINO status in the eyes of many alt/right people.

Then there was his willingness cross the aisle and work with Democrats..his stance of Free Trade would be abhorrent to many of the Right, as well.

It is weird to think of Reagan as almost Centrist, in today's political spectrum

#1.... Free Trade is what exists between, say, New Mexico and Arizona. NAFTA, with its 1700 pages of rules and regulations, has nothing to do with free trade.

#2...No: ....we must ensure adequate legal authority to establish control over immigration: to enable us, when sudden influxes of foreigners occur, to decide to whom we grant the status of refugee or asylee; to improve our border control; to expedite (consistent with fair procedures and our Constitution) return of those coming here illegally.........
Ronald Reagan: Statement on United States Immigration and Refugee Policy

#3... His amnesty program was sold as a way to halt illegal immigration. It didn't work. Building a wall might do the trick, though.
Turing a blind eye to illegal immigration has not worked. The only reason Democrats fight it is because they are afraid Republicans might actually succeed.

Reagan was a great president then. This is now.

MAGA

RR raised taxes on SS system, in an effort to keep it solvent. His massive tax cuts at the beginning of his term brands him a clear conservative. Remember he was clearly Pro- life when it came to abortion. He was also very pro-defense, with a massive military build up, and increase in nuclear weapons. Also very anti communist and was the true catalyst to the fall of the USSR. Immigration wasnt the big issue it is today. My guess is, he'd be for a wall, since he loved this country so much and wanted to see it continue to be strong for a long time.
