How does that relate to my statement?

Especially given I'm referring to tax filers, not children.. dah

Did you even look at InformedConsent's posting which validated that you were wrong?

Irrelevant. The percentage applies to those who actually file a 1040. More than 45% of 1040 filers pay no federal income tax whatsoever.

So, you're either deliberately trying to mislead people, or you're too stupid to understand the tax data. Which is it?

Pay your taxes and quit whining about the poor who don't earn enough to pay.

Be glad you're not one of them.

I'm wise enough to know that taxes are the dues you pay to be American and I don't whine like a gut-shot coyote about it.

And I'm smart enough to know that the US economy has been badly tilted towards the wealthy in recent decades so that America has a growing class of working poor who don't earn enough to pay taxes. And that the taxes you and I pay to subsidize those working poor actually goes to boost the bottom line of the corporate parasites that employ them.

So pay your taxes and keep on voting for the billionaire's enablers.

Exactly. Productively is such an open ended metric and means nothing without taking into account technology.

You want higher wages for the middle class, stop handing out H-B1 visas. Want higher wages for the blue collar workers, do something about the 10-30 million (estimated) illegals in this country. Stop handing out money to mothers who can't afford their children. Stop breeding poverty.

But no, that makes too much sense. Instead, let just steal money from those who earn more than us. No one should have to pay more than their fair share of federal taxes, which is about $12,000 - $35,000 per year.

Pointless. Get back to me when 100% of 1040 filers pay federal income tax. Until then, at least 45% aren't paying their fair share.

Exactly! I'm perfectly willing to pay that.

Yeah, it's those 540 individuals that are billionaires that pay 10's of millions in taxes each year that are the problem.

And it's the 150+ million Americans who pay nothing in federal tax, and receive benefits that deserve their fair share.

Liberal logic at it's finest

The middle class and above (150K+ household income) are being raped with taxes so the "poor" can fatten up on soda and junk food. Then they stick their hand out again, because they can't afford to treat their diabetes. God forbid they take responsibility for their own predicament. A good percentage are not even Americans. The American taxpayer is paying for the health and education for the "poor" in other countries (who entered out country illegally). And now our tax dollars are being used to give them protection from our laws. WTF is going on.

Yes, that's what we're doing. Removing almost 3-10% of the population (illegals) who pay no federal tax, means a greater percent of the American population now pays federal tax.

$113 Billion a year they cost us is roughly $650 per American tax payer, per year!!!!!

So happy you see things our way.

And Trump could pay no taxes for the rest of his life and he's still pay more dollars in taxes than 99.999% of the population.
