I worry about the extremes of either side, though at present I'm more concerned with the increasing degree of the far-left's abdication of personal responsibility, opposition to the First Amendment, practicing of bigotry in the name of combating the same, and approval of using acts or threats of violence in order to achieve political outcomes.

No - they are not. Church attendance is declining in record numbers. The Millennial, especially, is unlikely to attend church.

Many of their parents failed to introduce them to church and you aren't about to get them now ~ now with the face of the church being the hypocrite Kim Davis, Donald Trump liar-in-chief, and Mike Hucksterbee.

Sorry - you are trying to breathe life into a dying breed - the ardent churchgoer.

You're worried about violent liberals?

Guess it would be helpful to have a president who did not refer to neoNazis, white supremacists and the KKK as "fine people" then.

You know, a president who did not actively attempt to incite anger because he thrives on confrontation?

Remember his rallies encouraging violence? Punch them in the face? Throw them out? Take them out on a stretcher? Now you're worried about violence?

And if we're going to talk about "abdicating personal responsibility" Donald Trump heads the list. He takes no personal responsibility for anything at all!

Church attendance is declining and many younger people are seeking different ways to worship and a different approach to spirituality.

As to nostalgia for good old Christian moral values, would that include priests sexually abusing children? How about husbands beating their wives with the church's blessing? How about religiously sanctioned racism? Is that in or out?

As to the blaming the National Debt on liberals, think again. Reagan tripled the National Debt. Bush's tax cuts and wars along with his financial debacle was behind the last run up. Clinton had several years of a budget surplus paying down the debt.

In fact, if you look at the records going back fifty years or so, the last Republican President to leave the U.S. in better financial shape than he found it was Eisenhower and what with his interstate infrastructure spending, not sure he would be counted as a conservative any longer.

As to personal debt, hard to pin this on one side or the other, but we do know that there is a strong correlation between ACA and drop in personal bankruptcies.

Got to wonder what Jesus would say about what the conservatives are up to now. The story of the Good Samaritan comes to mind, moneychangers in the temple, the loaves and fishes.

Liberal social policies are exactly what Jesus Christ was teaching.

Take care of other people, even those who are not from around here.

Don't throw the first stone. Let God do the judging.

There is plenty for everyone if we share.

Believe it or not I agree with your sentiment regarding the President, and I'll note that I did not vote for him. Additionally, I was careful not to say "liberal" and instead specified the far-left. There is a dramatic distiction between the two in my experience, though I will say it has been disappointing to see the more moderate elements of either side kowtow to their respective undesirable bedfellows.

Conservatives will continue to be conservative and leftists will continue to be leftists. The country is permanently divided, it's never going to get better. That ship sailed long ago.

I do wonder if it's possible that a president is elected due to having a connection with both conservatives and liberals. If so what would that do to the country divide?

There will be a backlash as people (especially millennials, the next boomers) eventually become too fed up with the restrictive ultraconservatives. Destruction of health insurance, relationships with other countries, the environment--how long can that go on? Tax reform? That will not change anything, especially as our infrastructure crumbles and is still being ignored.

Civilization has always moved forward and progressed, interrupted by wars that required recovery. With the volatile guy in the WH, I imagine another war is coming. Then everyone (that survives) will be war-weary (as with the Bush admin) and want to move forward.

The midterms will be very interesting. With Bannon actively recruiting super-religious people to primary the establishment, the Dems could benefit from any extremists running as Republicans. Nobody wants a Sharia law government with guys like Moore and Pence legislating.

Per millenials, No. Not really...
What generation do you think played a major part of the meme war during the election campaigns?

Do you really think middle aged and retiree aged folks who rely on software hotlines to open their email or use word processors, were making the memes and gifs mocking the left?

The Only form of social media I have is facebook... of the many conservative groups I'm a part of, a significant majority are millenials 25-35. What's amusing is when the in fighting occurs when a boomer conservative thinks the younger ones are mocking Trump... basically, we kicked them out of their own party. They're getting up in their years, they'll slip into senility and pass away. They're not really relevant anymore except those that talk of how great things used to be and why.

The whole theory that only middle aged men make up his devoted base, if that's what comforts you and helps you sleep at night...

If you think we're hardcore and devoted... You haven't seen anything yet... the generation behind us, turning 18 19 20 21 this year. They're ruthless. They outright call boomers degenerates for allowing the hippy movement to happen and hold them accountable LOL that's quite amusing...

"Woke" and "red pill"-Millennial Conservatives
Meme war-Millennial Conservatives
Parody of actors musicians athletes against Trump-Millenial Conservatives

Angry middle aged straight Christian white men, they either get with us or we kick them out of their own party. The way we look at it is this pertaining to repubs and religion...
You want to serve God, fine. You serve us first, then God. You want our votes, we will allow you to run on it, but you answer to us. Don't forget that.
You put America First and follow Trump's lead, you have our support. You turn on us, or put your religion first, there are more of us than there are of you. You can be replaced. We only tolerate it to eradicate "political correctness."

We want McCain and McConnell gone.
We want term limits on Congress Critters as history has shown they don't serve our interests, but private and corporate interests...
We've had enough of dinosaurs sitting on their Duff being bought by corporate dollars to push agendas.

Trump's "base" isn't angry middle aged Christian white men.
It's millennials who reject and do not want to be a part of a dystopia.
You know how California just had that law about knowingly infecting people with HIV revised from a felony to misdemeanor... stuff like that gives us more incentive to use against the progressive/liberal ideology and movement.

Sometimes, the jokes write themselves...

That time Nancy Pelosi got BTFO by her "dreamers"
Crocodile tears Schumer...
Outrage over dismantling ACA. That was music to our ears. Why? Who do you think ACA hurt the most Millennials with stifling student loan debt telling us we need to pay asinine deductibles yearly and expensive premiums for little coverage.
Remember, you set yourselves up for that one. Preach the importance of an education and then cut us at the knees with intern level pay upon graduating.
Restricting our buying power as we need to fork over a high deductible and pay asinine premiums... God forbid we get married and/or have kids...
Fortunately some of us, like me, and 1000s like me, made it on our own without having to rely on Mommy and Daddy to float our living expenses or refinance their house to pay for our education.
We're on to your deception.

Keep letting your Hollywood actors, your musicians, your politicians off their leash.
It's quite amusing.
For every tear they shed, for every sign of weakness they display...
A meme or gif is on the way.

Matter of fact, 2 millennials are selling-MAKE SCHUMER CRY AGAIN hats.

You put alot of stock in believing millennials are going to cut and run from conservatism. Pfft. That's a disconnection from reality.
