Both parties pander to the rich. It's all a big club and YOU ain't in it!

Why do you think BOTH parties want Trump out? This has been plain as day since july 2015. If you think this is about party vs party, you're being played.

I just quoted a talking point that Democrats use.
Republicans are the party of/for the rich and wealthy, while the Democrats are the party of/for the poor.

I just put in a perspective of voting power and majorities that vote. Nothing else. The party for the rich would certainly need more rich people to hold power. The party for the poor, would need a majority of voters to be poor.

Nonsense on both counts, the 'meme' is absurd.

The Democrats boast that they are "The Party of the Poor" then would it make sense they would try and create more poor people to vote for them, so they can win elections.

Donald Trump v. Barack Obama ......... the perfect example

1.5 million people make too much and no longer qualify for food stamps in the first 9 months of Trump.
The Party that caters to needs of the Rich is the GOP.

The Party that caters to the needs of the poor is the DNC.

Been that way for generations, anyone that claims otherwise is either Ignorant or a Liar.

The late Bill Hicks summed it best when he mentionned then they was bold hold by the same puppeteer.

Moderator cut: trolling

So Trump and the republicans have kicked 1.5 million hungry Americans off food stamps, and you are gloating over this fact. We already know that conservatives are notorious for their lack of empathy for their fellow Americans who they consider "beneath" them. No news here.

Are we supposed to thank Trump and Co. for giving us 1.5 million "new" voters? Is your point that only people facing the prospect of sending their children to bed hungry are willing to vote for the evil liberals?

Interesting, yet the (D's) take money hand over fist and comprimse their supposed principles to win at any cost.
Funny how Bernie came close, if not for all the Clinton cash and tenticles that controlled the DNC efforts to scuttle his campaign.

Here are two liberals debating, and see which one is correct in your mind and makes more sense;

Also note how the supposed journalist Brian Stelter get emotionally upset starting about at 3:00 when talking about how Hillary being the first woman nominee is monumental and the controversy being proffered by the Bernie supporters will diminish it.
Needless to say many knew Stelter (who claims to be a media watchdog) is nothing more than a partisan hack masquerading as a neutral journalist. His guest then calls him on it in a logical manner and before you know it Stelter gets him off the air quickly.

I may disagree with Cenk Uygur on most things, but I respect the way he can see through how the MSM and the DNC rigged the nomination process for Hillary.
Little did he or anyone know to what degree that was the case.

Your thoughts?

The Democrats might be trying to keep more people poor though. You'd think they would create more incentives to get off welfare. Daycare for welfare moms so they could work, transitional monetary payments so they don't have to jump from the pan into the fire when they start working after being on welfare.

How much do people on food stamps get? I think it's $15 or $16/month for most. Many of these people are elderly, worked all their lives and can't work now.
I believe you are off by a fraction.

so the republicans are the party of the rich eh? i guess that huge tax cut from 39.4% to 35% for those over a certain income means the rich are really going to be making a lot of money off the government right?

i would note that every time taxes are cut in this country, the actual tax burden goes UP on the rich, not down. for instance when carter was in office, the top 1% paid about 19% of the taxes collected by the IRS. when reagan cut taxes, the top 1% paid closer to 35% of the taxes collected by the IRS.

the meme that the republicans are the party of the rich is a false one, and has been for quite some time.

All forms of conservatism are, essentially, a defense of privilege. They don’t want to go after the rich and powerful because they either are rich and powerful already or they covet the perks of being rich and powerful. These are people who worship a certain kind of authority and have never gotten on board with the Enlightenment notion that rules and standards are universal, the same for everyone. If a rich man games the system he’s admirably clever; if a poor man games the system and gets a little extra from Uncle Sam he’s a cheat who should be thrown in jail and lose his right to vote.
