Democratic party lost because of their support for Wall Street and corporate America at the expense of middle class working people.
That simple. Majority of people care much more about money than they do about social issues. Not all, but most.

Ok, so you have read a blog or two online and you label the writer(s) feminists/SJW's and then you further align them with the Democratic Party. How you know this - no-one knows. You then respond to a poster that is talking about Democrats and you respond the way you did based on reading a few blogs by people you label feminists/SJW's and link those writings to the entire Democratic party by refering to the party as "they" in your response. OK!!!

Right now D's won 14 R house seats and lead in 2 others, I think it would take 17 to flip it but there are is one seat that look like it could go democratic even though a republican currently leads https://www.vpap.org/electionresults/house/
