This comes fifteen years after Robert Mugabe’s Zimbabwean government seized large swaths of land from white farmers in the country – a move that triggered a rapid downturn in the country’s economy.
According to The Telegraph, Minister of Lands Douglas Mombeshora said provincial leaders had been tasked to come up with names of white farmers they wanted to remain on their farms. The farms should be “of strategic economic importance“.

South Africa is teetering on the brink of a race war after President Jacob Zuma called on parliament to pass a law allowing white-owned land to be “confiscated” by blacks without any form of compensation.
That is very, very bad news and I had not heard it. I am finding reports as recently as 2 days ago about farm murders as a result of encouragement by the South African government. Actual figures are hard to come by because The African National Congress has ordered a stop to reporting details of ethnicity. 'Outright Act of Terror'
It may be a long road, but it looks like South Africa will go the way of Rhodesia.
If someone sees a bright spot in Africa, please point it out. I do not.

A smart white farmer would poison the food and slowly kill off the population. If I was living there I would be leery of letting the guy I stole land from grow and feed me anything.

Zimbabwe could take them in and benefit.
They'd be more likely to go to Zimbabwe than the expelled British colonists who used to run the farms.
maybe the folks most concerned with the potential of famine would just move out and let the remaining people figure out how to avoid starvation. If starvation does thin the herd maybe there will be few enough left to survive on the remaining farm production.
Note- most of the farmland in that area is used to produce fiber and beef for export and not for grains for food.
