Good for you. So you are paying nothing now. Under the new plan, you still pay nothing, but meanwhile the debt increases by 1.5 trillion. Do you think this is good for you or your kids?

More than 1,200 businesses surveyed from large corporations to tiny businesses.

Most businesses want Trump's tax plan.

50.5% said Trump's plan would cause them to hire more employees (4.8% say the opposite)

51.3% said Trump's plan would cause them to invest more in the US (8.7% say the opposite)

52% said Trump's plan would cause them to increase worker compensation (5.2% say the opposite)
Of course the plan is very business friendly, more so for the larger companies. It's just comes at the cost of social services, more debt, and more risk since recessions usually happen every 7-9 years.

A recession would be felt harder with interest rates still low and not many monetary tools left. Debt would increase more so during a recession under this plan. We most certainly not be recession free for 17 straight years. This plan is very short sighted after a very serious financial crisis is being put in the rearview.

Businesses (and people) can SAY anything they want in an anonymous poll. IF the plan passes, and it benefits the middle-class -- GREAT . . . but I am not counting on it.

Tax cuts in general are not good for regular folks. Services will have to be cut as a result. And those services are funded by a progressive tax system. Pay out of pocket for Medicare, education, roads etc is worse than funding these services by tax money which takes into account ability to pay (the well-heeled chip in more than the poor widow).

Default Republicans’ Tax Lies Show the Rot Spreads Wide and Runs Deep

Quote:
On Thursday morning, The New York Times revealed that Steven Mnuchin, the Treasury secretary, has been lying for months about Republican tax plans. Mnuchin has repeatedly claimed the existence of a Treasury report that — unlike every independent, nonpartisan assessment — found that these plans would pay for themselves, increasing growth and hence revenues so much that the deficit wouldn’t rise.

But there is no such report, and never has been; Treasury staffers weren’t even asked to study the issue.

Mnuchin said his department had a study showing great effects on growth; that was a lie. Donald Trump says the bill is “not good for me”; that’s a lie. Senator John Cornyn said, "This is not a bill that is designed primarily to benefit the wealthy and the large businesses”; that was a lie. Senator Bob Corker said he wouldn’t support a plan “adding one penny to the deficit”; that was a lie.

In other words, this whole process involves a level of bad faith we haven’t seen in U.S. politics since the days when defenders of slavery physically assaulted their political foes on the Senate floor.
No truer words - and there's more, here:

And for a deep dive into the chicanery and deception, to the point career Treasury people are beyond disgusted:

Just what the GOP wants. This tax bill, with the deficit spending and attendant costs, sets us up beautifully for further dismantling of govt. programs. Starve the beast is well begun.

In the long run, it won't benefit the middle class at all - exactly the opposite. They will be poorer with weakened safety nets and diminished SS and Medicare (if it exists at all) on their horizons when they retire. Sucks to be them, that's for sure.

But the rich - well, "what me worry? I've got mine. Let them eat cake (or live under bridge)."
