The warrant issued by the U.S. District Court for the western district of Texas says Zarate was sentenced in Texas on May 12, 2011 to 46 months in prison, followed by three years of supervised release, for illegally re-entering the U.S.
The warrant says the terms of the supervised release, which began March 26, 2015, barred Zarate from committing another crime and from possessing a firearm. He was still bound to the terms of that release when Steinle was shot and killed. Though he was acquitted of murder Thursday, he was found guilty of being a felon in possession of a firearm.
So when this all happened he should have been in federal prison? It's S.F. fault? They released him knowing he was here illegally? That's S.F. fault?

San francisco: put that gun on trial for murder!!!!
They are very dumb. Just walk down the street, they don't even know to use a toilet instead of the sidewalk. 8/10 people you encounter walking are crazies yelling at you. It's a real great place and murder is legal!!! (If you are an illegal felon)
That's when it's fully cocked. And if you **** it and drop it it still won't fire all by itself. A force has to be applied to the trigger. Period. Sig tests these scenarios incessantly.
Why do you insist on taking up slack for this dirtbag?
There is compelling evidence this was an accidental shooting which may have been contributed to by the hair trigger on the sig when in single action mode. The ranger testified the weapon was in single action mode and loaded with one in the chamber and 7 in the magazine. It was pulled from the bay with one in the chamber and 6 in the magazine. So one round fired in single action mode. Compatible with an accident particularly as the shooter was gun naïve.
An actually sig had a voluntary upgrade of one model last August over it firing when dropped. So the belief it won't happen with a sig is clearly in error in at least some cases.
Anyone heard what model of sig this was? Can find lots of details including the trigger pull force but no mention of the model.
I haven't heard why this travesty of justice happened. I can only guess it was either (or both):
(1) the "system" (the District Attorney, the judge, and others) made sure the jury saw NONE of the endless evidence that this career-criminal illegal immigrant committed pointless murder (which he admitted on numerous occasions), or
(2) the jury was full of mindless morons and/or absolutely unethical lunatic liberals that don't believe in even restricting the full freedom of the most vicious, sadistic serial killers who ever lived.
I bet the press goes to incredible lengths to make sure these TRAITORS (fka jurors) are never identified, so they can never see (feel) what actual justice looks like.

According to reports he was in federal custody and S.F. requested they release him to them for a crime he was charged with there. Once he was set for release in S.F. the feds ask for him to be released back to them and there was a detainer. S.F. DIDN'T comply to release him back to federal custody.
So what you have is the feds cooperating with S.F. and the arrogant S.F. Sheriff not cooperating with the feds.

He wasn't released to S.F. (which wouldn't be a release, it would be a transfer). He was released.
It's not a quibble. They released him. That's S.F. fault?
I can explain it for you but I can't understand it for you.
