If we are to be destroyed would you rather have the country go over the cliff under the Republicans tax reform or the Democrats big push to import millions of poor people from third world countries and grant them amnesty and eventually a vote?

If what the anti Trump people are saying about the tax reform is true then we are doomed but image if the negative news about this bill is all hyped up fake news and once implemented the tax reform is actually a benefit. Imagine that if you can.

If it is all garbage that is going to destroy us can we blame the Dems as much as the Reps for it since the Dems do nothing but block everything Trump when they should all be working towards the common goal of making America great again?
Nice try at deflection, but this piece of crap legislation is riddled through and through, with give aways to the rich and corporations, on the backs of the middle class, and is only being considered because the repub rich donors are threatening to close their wallets unless this farce is passed.

The fat sexual predator, leading the parade on this huge lie, has the gall to tell us that this legislation does not benefit him in the least, but in reality, this will put billions in the pockets of him and his crime family for generations to come. To wit the repeal of the estate tax, alternative minimum tax, and the creation of lower tax pass throughs for those in the real estate industry are but a few examples.

Lastly, it adds $1.5 trillion to the deficit, by the hypocrite repubs, that were always preaching no additions to the deficit and revenue neutral legislation when BO was in the WH.

Wake up America you are getting screwed royally on this steaming mess of a tax bill!

this tax bill will streamline a very complicated tax system

this tax bill will help 80-90% of taxpayers.... will about 10% feel a little bit of pain, sure...but what bill passed by ANYONE would make 100% of the people 100% happy.... there are always growing pains
If record profits and a record stock market doesn`t make the wealthy happy nothing will. There is no need for tax cuts to anyone. Pay raises yes.

Our system is nothing more or less than a glorified ponzi scheme; we are living on borrowed time until this house of cards crashes out from under us. And when that happens? Trump and his billionaire cronies will be sitting high and dry in their ivory towers with their offshore accounts, while we endure the biggest financial disaster of all time. Will this happen in Trump's reign? He's not that stupid. Try ten years down the road.
I agree GearHead. Seems to me anyone under late 50s is going to find their SS benefits slashed by this march at the latest.

The Rs dare not wait until after 2018 because they will either lose the house or have a tiny majority which means they won't be able to slash benefits so they have to act quick and hope to hang on for the full four years..

I think they will start in Jan maybe feb, but they will need to create a false urgency like they just did yesterday and this morning.

fake fake fake.

This bill streamlines NOTHING! what are you even talking about Working? the average person can file a 1040 fast and easy as it stands.

those with complex tax issues will still have complex tax issues. This bill does not even address most of the tax code. It deals with tax cuts and nothing more.

If i am wrong Wrkingclass, show me where, show us where? if you dont that means you could not back up your claims..

No sweeping legislation such as this should be passed in the middle of the night without even giving senators a chance to delve into the details. I can only hope that there will be a stalemate between the two versions (House vs. Senate), and nothing will be done.

Whatever benefit you've been promised will most likely expire in ten years. You'll ultimately pay more, and Social Security and Medicare, plus other social programs will be gutted due to the deficit explosion. If this passes, things are going to get very ugly.
Obamacare was passed passed on Christmas Eve without a single Republican vote. By your standards it's ok when Democrats do it right?
Just shut up and stop your whining and take it up the *** like Democrats forced Americans to do with Obamacare.

Hey, at least you know what's in it before it passes.

Aww, look at Nancy smiling as they sign the partisan bill that hurt so many Americans...

Do you like Obamacare? If you do, nor do you have utter disregard for working people of this country.

The middle class won't be affected much under this bill. Some middle class like myself could benefit, the single ones with no children, but mostly this plan taxes the upper class (or upper middle class if you live in a high cost of living area) to give to the top 1%. Since a lot of people in this forum pull in $100K to $250K and live in CA and NY of course they are complaining. They always wanted to pay more tax they just never expected to pay that tax so the top 1% could get the money. Don't get me wrong, I personally don't think people should be able to write off property taxes, mortgage interest, or state taxes AT ALL. It could be argued they should also have to pay capital gains tax on their home sales as well. I would eliminate all these deductions and reduce the overall income tax rates for the lower brackets giving the money to the working class to trickle up. I'd raise the 15% bracket up to $60K for example. I don't think people who don't work at all, the very bottom, need any more handouts. The top and bottom suck from the middle. I'm talking the working class here who make $12-30/hour. They get the breaks. Also small business owners like mom and pop shops or restaurant franchise owners who tend to have razor thin margins as it is. It's hard to compete with big mega corporations to begin with so small entities should get a bit of a tax break.

The tax plan in it's current form would be more user friendly to the middle class if they kept the property tax for a home sale pegged at 2 years instead of raising it to 5 years. You want to revitalize our decaying downtown areas, let people buy homes and sell them in a shorter time period and fix them up in the process. What's wrong with that?

Lets fast forward 10 years from now. Debt is through the roof. Government needs to pay debt. Will they turn to the corporations who have now made their shareholders billions of dollars the last 10 years..?
No...they look to see where they can get the money without upsetting the apple cart. Alas, bye bye social security and medicare. Its coming and we have turned around , bent over , smiled and said...let it happen. Careful what you wish for. You just might get it.

As for the stock market...it will continue to grow and grow and grow and keep the rich fat and happy for a while. But, when the economy starts to tank and we go into a recession, that house of cards will crash in ways that are unthinkable. It will not happen slowly. It will happen in a crushing jolt. We are being set up to have 2 economies in 10 years..one for the rich and one for the rest of us.

uh, do you think only rich people have money invested in the stock market? Aren't you invested in the stock market or are you counting on government taking care of you?

The Poor: Spend every penny they get. Most can't handle money even if they get a windfall.
The Middle Class: Buy liabilities, yes many do invest in the stock market,
The Rich: Buy assets (one being stock) to pay for their liabilities

The middle class who invested and the rich benefit. Do you want to punish them because they had the sense to plan and invest for their futures instead of expecting someone else to pay their way?

Can't the democrats simply overhaul it when they take over congress starting January 2019? It's really only going to affect us for one tax year... hopefully.
