Trent Franks, a tea partier and religious zealot is said to be resigning today over emerging sexual assault allegations. Franks was a front runner in the Bannon slate to replace Jeff Flake. Good riddance with this one, though we will have to see who replaces him.

Default The first Republican domino to fall?

Quote:
Arizona Republican Rep. Trent Franks is expected to resign from Congress, a source with knowledge told Roll Call.

***

It is unclear exactly why Franks is stepping down, but one Arizona Republican said there had been rumors of inappropriate behavior. The Republican said the congressman had apparently been making plans to run for Senate in 2012, but abruptly canceled those plans.
Arizona’s Trent Franks Expected to Resign

Given that he's not following the standard GOP response of deny, deny, deny, he must know there are some very serious and solid charges out there.

Looks like the Franken and Conyers resignations may be bearing fruit across the aisle after all.

I don't understand how folks who take a job that requires them to steal and kill end up needing to resign over sexual harassment claims.

I mean...shouldn't we let them harass who they want? We've gone this far with throwing the moral compass out the window.

I hope all these accusations across politicians, media personalities, celebrities, etc. really open the eyes of the general public as to what us women (and some men) have been expected to put up with.

We're not putting up with it anymore.

One has to wonder just how far this is going to go. Powerful men have taken advantage of women since time eternal and now it has suddenly become a career killer. There are many skeletons in many closets.

Let's be sure to smear him before its confirmed. All someone needs to do is say something and someone rushes to report in MSM or SM.

Don't see something, say something.
It used to be see something, say something. Now its hear something smear someone, then hope you're right.

No one is smearing him except to say he is a tea partier and religious zealot - which he is. We will see if the reports are true or not. The linked article made it sound like his behavior, whatever it was, was an open secret in DC. Maybe that is a smear.

You say that like it's a bad thing.

Women are TIRED of it. We're not putting up with it anymore. Powerful men shouldn't be rewarded for their disgusting behavior.

The news here in Arizona is saying the source is an "unnamed Arizona Republican".
