...is going to bite then in the butt...

Social conservatism and religion is not going to carry you far into the future.

Socially liberal (you believe whatever you want, you marry whoever you want, what you do in your bedroom is your business and so is whatever you want to smoke or inhale) and fiscally conservative is the only way to attract younger generations.

I bet Ron Paul is laughing...

What do you think??

Libertarianism is a loser, a fool's errand, and just another fad of the day. Libertarianism is DOA, Trumpism is in, and not for much longer

I remind you that Ron Paul was the only GOP presidential candidate in 2012 that did beat Obama in a Rasmussen poll..the only one.....

Do you actually know what Libertarianism is??

The republicans hated ron paul, during his entire time in the house he had had one bill that he introduced passed.

One bill

The republican establishment will maintain their power even if it means losing elections, 8 years straight of obama and we would have had 12 if they had of gave us a mainstream repub like Jeb

Watch for the reemergence of more repub losers like Mitt Romney, Democrats love these guys

I do, because I was a former Libertarian. But he didn't win, did he? Means no love for Paul among normal Republicans

Well, there were a lot od dirty tricks involved...like the Democrats with Bernie...

Romney was pathetic.

Stick with the religious right, against gay marriage, against drugs and see where you will end up.....

Trump won because was, in a way, a breath of fresh air in the GOP (in some aspects what Ron Paul would have been as well)...no establishment Republicans would have won against Hillary, not a single one.....we would have Madame president currently

Trump won because he kinda talked like Bernie when he was in the Rust Belt. If he had lost PA, MI,and WI, you would not be saying president Trump. The GOP also resoundingly rejected Rand Paul in favor of a statist Republican in Trump. Trump killed the Paul brand, and buried it under a one mile thick glacier.

Trump appealed to old union voters in the Great Lakes region, it had nothing to do with free markets, and more free trade which is what you would get with Ron and Rand Paul

If the Libertarians want to start a party, you can't just go to the presidential level and expect success.

Doesn't anyone start slow and build up momentum?

You want to know a good place to start... California. Repubs are out - many people want a decent alternative... start making inroads in lower areas of government.

I don't think younger generations count, that's what I think. And I don't think they ever have, except in isolated pockets.

Democrats TELL youngsters that they count; youngsters hold lots of rallies and make lots of noise.
But they don't vote.

All this nonsense about wanting fresh, young ideas is just that - nonsense. The Old Guard runs the shop and it's going to stay that way.

I was talking Ron Paul and Libertarian ideals in general not Rand Paul which had the charisma of a dump rag....

Libertarians are for fair trade not "free trade" with currency manipulation.....similarly as what Trump preached....
