Because of a TV series he was in back in the 70's You tube "All in the Family" His FIL on the show, Carroll O'Conner. "Archie" nicknamed him"Meathead"
It was a show well ahead of it's time for it's blatant racist comedic satire. It poked fun at both sides of the racist issues.
We baby boomers grew into adulthood on it.
It will probably send folks into a tizzy now in our overly politically correct world.....People do not have a sense of humor for satire now.
Correct. AITF was a great show, well ahead of it's time, and would never see the light of day today with the political correctness.
Rob Reiner in 2017? I am sure far more people today have heard of MoveOn.org. than him. They are sending out emails to people organizing protests for a constitutional crisis.
Yes, I am old enough to have watched All in the Family when is was originally run. Funny show. Archie and Edith reminded me of my parents then.
As for rallying in the streets should Mueller be fired, I just got out my well-worn sign
I have several blank poster boards and markers. My family is ready to make signs and take to the streets if Trump fires Mueller. We will take to the streets as long as necessary.

It's regularly shown in my area, on one of the main TV stations' secondary channels. Plus it's available on YouTube.
I agree that it was a great show -but not necessarily ahead of its time; it was very much a product of its time.
