Actually, it's quite similar. Look at the link CNBC cited. Open your eyes. Stop being hoodwinked.

Where do YOU see '70's style inflation?

If you want to debate the "should", you need to accept the reality that America will (barring something incredibly catastrophic change) always have social programs.

Those will be funded through taxation.

This has been addressed many times by the Supreme Court and has been found to be constitutional.

All I'm saying is that you do have a choice - living elsewhere is not always the wrong answer. We are more connected as world than ever before.

You can choose to stay here and complain about it (something that is never going to change) - or you can seek out life in another country where the system more aligns with your ideology.

Hmm I could get used to this line of reasoning...
I owe the American people the taxes that my income and state I live in dictate.

I have no idea what your post is trying to state - but it is possible that you qualify for a social program, and it is possible that my money has gone to help pay for that.

And I have no issues with it. I understand the system we have in place.

Socialism is where the government has direct control running major industries. Don't let FOX and Breitbart redefine what Socialism is for the purposes of doing damage to government programs that work for people but not for billionaires.

Wake Up! Smell the propaganda. In the WW2 era we called German lies propaganda. In the Cold War we called Soviet lies propaganda. You can't say that it can't happen here, because it is.
I met my wife in 2006 and got married the same year, she hasn't worked a day since and we were only 21/22. According to an older outdated study 13% of married households with children have stay at home moms. If it is your reality then you need to reexamine your goals and take steps to meet those goals.

If your goal is a new car every 3-5 years for each of you, new $800+ cellphones every year etc. then yeah you will have to work your life away to get those things. If your goal is to be a single income household and raise your kids yourself instead of letting strangers do it for you then you need to manage your expenses accordingly. You can raise a family of 4 comfortably on a $40k a year salary in plenty of places in this country.

It is a choice people make to chase "things" because status is all that matters in this country. I laugh at people complaining about their bosses and bragging about their $40k new car and other junk because they will be on the treadmill for their entire lives. This isn't a government issue it is a culture issue.

Set up a system were people who want to take part in socialism sign up for a membership card to take part in it or something like that.
Who will pay for it?

Got a slice of reality for you, most of the places that a family of 4 could survive on $40k have next to no jobs that pay that much. And further, have no quality of life when your entertainment options are WalMart or cow tipping

Okay, what do they have that we can give to someone else?

Can't we just put a wood stake into Socialism once and for all? It has failed everywhere it has been tried so why keep trying? Can't people just face reality and get a education, job, work hard and call it a day?

Most millennials would rather we move to a system with more social protections and programs, like what is found in many developed nations in the world. And I would like to see that, as well.

These systems are not socialism, either.
