FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe is planning to retire in the coming months amid accusations from Republicans of partisanship and bias within the law enforcement agency.

The Washington Post reported Saturday that McCabe plans to step down in a few months, when he is fully eligible for pension benefits. That is expected to happen in early March.

wonder if it has anything to do with this?

I don't blame him, the GOP comes up with a new fantasy every day to make it as difficult as possible for the FBI to function. The problem is that this detracts from more important issues like terrorism.

Don't blame the man a bit.

But once Republicans have run off all the decent, competent people in the FBI, State Dept., etc. who will be left to look out for our safety?

What are the chances that Trump and his Russian-affiliated associates will look out for us?

The article doesn't say how long he was in office but I believe a federal government employee in a law enforcement position can retire with 20 years of service unlike regular federal civil servants who have to have 30 years of service.

He can always get a job with the Clinton Foundation. What has his wife been doing since she wasn't elected with Clinton money for her campaign?

He had a shaky time testifying from what I read. Some contradictions. Since Strzok was in "Andy's" office colluding with his girlfriend to get rid of Trump, Andrew McCabe had to go. The new FBI director could have fired him. He's lucky. But he can't go until March, so the new Director needs to send him to the Fargo or Bismark North Dakota field office until his retirement date.

Will some reporter please interview Mrs Strzok (the scorned wife)? I figure her husband has embarrassed her enough and she'll be ready to spill the beans about what she knows.

Trump reacts to reports of FBI deputy director's retirement

Trump tweeted Saturday: "How can FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, the man in charge, along with leakin' James Comey, of the Phony Hillary Clinton investigation (including her 33,000 illegally deleted emails) be given $700,000 for wife's campaign by Clinton Puppets during investigation?"

McCabe's wife, Jill, did not get $700,000 in donations from Clinton for a Virginia state Senate race in 2015.

The donations came from Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe's political action committee and the Virginia Democratic Party before McCabe was promoted to deputy director and a supervisory role in the Clinton email investigation.

Gowdy was pretty much right
Trey Gowdy: "I would be surprised if Andrew McCabe will still be working at the FBI by next week."

He doesn't deserve a pension. What he does deserve is a trial for treason, a conviction, and a cell at Leavenworth to spend his golden years.

I factchecked this statement but only had to scroll to the original post to see that The President wasn't the one who wrote the Washington Post story.

Or the New York Times story.

Or CBS.

Or NPR.

Or Reuters, NBC, LA Times, The Hill.....
