Which are aesthetically more pleasing to explore, Midwestern cities and their inner city neighborhoods or southern cities and their inner city neighborhoods?
Which are aesthetically more pleasing to explore, Midwestern cities and their inner city neighborhoods or southern cities and their inner city neighborhoods?
That's a more difficult question than it appears on the surface.
Midwestern cities as a whole have inner cities with better architecture and more history, of course New Orleans is one of America's most historical cities, so is Charleston. Richmond, Virginia Beach, Nashville, and Savannah are no slouches when it comes to history and ambience
The problem with the other Southern cities is that most of them did not become truly big until the mid 20th century, so they wound up developing along aesthetically unpleasant lines. Atlanta destroyed its own history with a zeal and vigor matched only by Los Angeles.
I'd pick Florida because it's warm there and in the rest of the country, you'll have to deal with the freezing temperatures and snow.
