This is a Mitt Romney Hit Job -- he wants to force Orin Hatch out so HE can be the Utah Senator.
Romney has the Money & Power to get the Utah Press to do a Hit piece of Hatch.

Whatever the reason, if a major paper in the state is disillusioned with Hatch - he's got problems.
I doubt that the SL Tribune's editorial board was neutral on the subject before they were approached by Romney, if in fact that is what happened. Usually, these kinds of editorials are a case of like minds agreeing, not a case of one being ordered around by another.
No reason on earth should a politician be in a lifetime job. NO exceptions. We do need to change a few of these laws. 2 or 3 terms and out. No benefits or pension either. Just another way to steal from the taxpayers...

Hatch had said he would retire if someone qualified could step up, and he is the one who wanted it to be Romney. Trump doesn’t want that since Romney would actually call him out on things, so he is pressing Hatch to run again. Bannon got involved during the Roy Moore saga, saying Romney had no honor and integrity since he and his sons avoided service in Vietnam/subsequent wars (never mind that also applies to Trump and sons).
I remember seeing a poll with like 75% of people saying Hatch should retire. I would gladly vote for Romney or McMullin.
At any rate - it's time for 80 year olds ON BOTH SIDES of the aisle - to retire. It's time.
Totally agree.
