I think if majority ruled, women would still vote, blacks and whites would still be allowed to marry, cakes would be made for anyone with the money to buy them, and small-minded, archaic thinkers would be banished to some small island where they would spend the rest of their miserable lives telling one another how perfect they are.

You contradicted yourself. In the end, you admit they were requesting a custom-made cake. That is a work of art.
It's a bakery, not an art gallery. Bakeries make food to eat, not to look at, sit on a coffee table or hang on a wall. Picking the flavour and appearance of a cake doesn't make it a work of art.
