What are your thoughts on this? Looks like another bone thrown to the evangelicals at the expense of the LGBT community, poor, and minorities (three groups that HIV disproportional affects). Back in the '80s people like Jerry Falwell opposed AIDS research and finding a cure because he believed that it was the judgment of God and that anybody who had it deserved it and the consequences that came with it. It looks like that is where we are still at under Trump.

I want to know the reason why he terminated the council members and whether he plans to appoint a new slate before I form an opinion on the matter. Indeed, if the previous council was filled with a bunch of Trump haters, I'd have no problem with President Trump letting them go and choosing his own people. But, note, even Jesse Helms (evil former GOP senator from North Carolina . . . see, I can and will criticize members of my own party ) supported aids research toward the end of his tenure in the Senate and no legitimate prominent conservative leader is against a cure/funding.

Terminate the rest of the government and we'll be sitting pretty.

What's with his obsession with drug addiction then? Can't those people just get a life and quit sniffing or popping. Go watch some Kardashians or something and quit it. AIDS on the other hand people have little control over once they acquire the virus.

Just skimmed the article. They are all presidential appointees. Even one of them stated in the article that it's common for them to be replaced. I think the more confusing part to everyone is why it took a full year and some of them had been sworn in. They seemed most confused by that as the expected to be let go in January. The answer to that is just the usual chaos of this administration. That haven't done any of these types of personnel actions efficiently at all. Not sure who is heading up THAT team, but they are terrible.

Many were resigning already because Trump wasn't doing anything. Trump does not care about the LGBT community as was demonstrated by his military ban.

You understand Democrats are slow-walking all Trump nominees?

Hard to slow-walk nominations that haven't been offered yet.

Yet 11 months ago the claim was that he was "moving too fast" replacing holdover appointees.
