Do you not know what the word "since" means?

The truth hurts:

U.S. stocks log worst year since 2008

Cautious optimism over U.S.-China trade talks helped the stock market to close higher Monday, but major indexes bid adieu to 2018 with the worst annual performance since 2008.

I know what words mean, thanks. Its one thing to say worst thing since 2008, its another thing to drum up the drama calling them "historic losses" and "losses not seen since 2008" come on. Yes, they are the first losses since 2008, but "not seen since" implies they are in the same ball park. The drama in this thread is obvious. People looking to paint pictures that don't exist.

Well, 10 years is "history," right?

The OP was very misleading, and mostly misinformed. "10 years is "history" yes but "historic" implies a longer (usually the entire) time period.

And for the record, the OP has a record of lies and drama as can be seen on page 377 of this thread:

http://www.city-data.com/forum/53937762-post3765.html

They pronounced that "Nike just had the worst quarter since the Great Recession" and meanwhile Nike had not released the earnings for that quarter when this poster made that dramatic claim. When Nike did finally release their earnings later, it turned out that it was one of their best quarters in a long time.

So yeah, OP here gets no benefit of the doubt, and is assumed to just be trying to drum up drama backed on no research or facts.

Ponderosa, whom you responded to vis-a-vis the "historic" comment, is not the OP.

OP-Original Poster, in this case, the post I replied to.

No, this reply was a reply to Ponderosa's post. Not sure how you brought the OP (phma) into it.

Again, I'm using OP as the Original Poster who I replied to. Its Ponderosa, I know who the OP of the THREAD is.

Oh. Usually when somebody says "OP" they're referring to the person who started the thread.
