Remember when Obama moving a bust of Churchill was an act that completely undermined the Special Relationship? Good times.

Rex Tillerson will open the new Embassy.

Trump changed his mind because there was going to be no pomp and pagentry, and no events planned.

Trump is very unpopular outside of the US, and political leaders including Theresa May want to try and keep photo opportunities with him to a minimum given his toxic tweets.

He does. He wants everyone to adore him. There is a reason that he doesn't go to Trump Tower.

The US Embassy in London moved for security reasons and ever increasing security measures had caused friction with the local community.

BBC NEWS | UK | Few mourn US embassy relocation

The new Embassy at Nine Elms has state of the art security and lots of room compared to the Grosvenor Square site, and it will have a new Tube Station nearby once the Northern Line Extension is complete.

Nine Elms is just across the river from Pimlico in the borough of Westminster as well as Chelsea so it's hardly that out of the way.

So basically you're arguing that:

US becoming a global economy is why we are losing!!

China becoming a global economy is why they are winning!!

Well then, if you're right then the problem is not global economy, since it benefits China so much. The problem then is us!!!

And that is exactly my point. The problem is some of us are dragging this country behind. Start with the Republican party.

NOPE they welcomed Obama on his visit, so seems to me they just don't want TRump.

Most Brits irish scots welsh see Trump as a racist POS who craps on everyone.

you can pretend it is about something else, but frankly you know and i know it is because Trump is a POS and they hate him.

Thumbs down actually...

He is not going to England because they do not want him there. They don't like him. They don't want to see his face or hear his voice. I also read that he didn't think there was enough 'Pomp' so he cancelled.
I wish he would just move there...enough already.

Cheers to London's Mayor!

London mayor: Trump ‘got the message’ that he’s not welcome here

Quote:
London Mayor Sadiq Khan celebrated the news that President Trump would not be visiting the city, saying Trump had "got the message" from Londoners who "have made it clear that Donald Trump is not welcome here."

"It appears that President Trump got the message from the many Londoners who love and admire America and Americans but find his policies and actions the poor opposite of our city's values of inclusion, diversity and tolerance," Khan said in a statement Friday.

"His visit next month would without doubt have been met by mass peaceful protests," Khan continued, adding he hopes that Trump "also revisits the pursuit of his divisive agenda.
