An older woman (near 80) told me this story. She said she was on a road when she pulled up behind truck. She waited through half a dozen green yellow red light sequences, and the truck still hadn't moved. So she got out of her vehicle and walked up to the truck. No driver was present. She didn't know how long she may have to wait. So she tried to make her right turn on the sidewalk. Not sure if she got stuck there or police just happened to come by then.
So, her car was impounded and her driver's license cancelled. They confiscated her house, froze her bank account so she couldn't hire a good lawyer, and threw her in a mental institution. So, who was in the wrong and why? Thanks for any replies.
Sounds like there was a lot more going on than this one incident. You don’t have all that happen just because you drive on the sidewalk, unless there is some city out there with such draconian laws. Maybe she never went to court and got a warrant and fines racked up, or who knows.
Is this a riddle? I know this is a bs post but I'll try to solve.
My answer is it was her fault. Why would she have to go on the sidewalk to make a right turn when she could have moved to the left and turned in front of his truck?
Also, if she's crazy enough to sit there for 6 cycles and not try to go around him then she does deserve a vacation in the loony bin. What did the other vehicles do? Lights only cycle if other cars are around.
