What is wrong with our government, primarily the Democrats that do not want to enforce our immigration laws?
They are threatening to shut down the government this Friday unless DACA is addressed.
DACA does need to be addressed so the thousands that are part of that program are not deported.
The thing is for every handful of illegal immigrants that are living, working and contributing to society there is one that is giving them a bad name.
I think protecting illegal aliens from deportation is a bad policy for America but it is not a popular policy and enforcing our immigration laws is a topic that has been kicked down the road by past Presidents and now that we have one that dares to tackle it he is being called a racist hitler.
Maybe we could all agree on basics.
We need to stop people from sneaking in which means we need a physical barrier.
Go after those that over stay their Visas.
When an illegal alien is picked up by Police for committing a crime ICE is called so they can be processed, and deported but not before answering for their crime. This Sanctuary city nonsense is stupid.
I like to think that everyone could be onboard with deporting illegal aliens that go on to break more laws and endanger others but I feel that even that would be an uphill battle.
It boggles the mind how an illegal alien that has been deported multiple times could shoot and kill a woman on a dock and he is found not guilty.
Or as in a case a few years back in my state an illegal crashed his car killing a person while drunk out of his mind and it was successfully argued that he lacked the enzyme to process alcohol so it was not his fault he was driving drunk.
If we got tough on criminal illegals they just might start policing themselves. Crimes like domestic abuse, robbery, drug dealing, armed robbery, rape, murder and any other crime that results in a victim being injured would result in that persons deportation. We already have a law about countries taking back their criminals and if they don't legal immigration is stopped so why don't we start using that law?
We would still have millions of illegal aliens "living in the shadows" but they would be upstanding people fearful of breaking the laws because they would know that they would be out.
In the case of illegal aliens they already know they have one strike against them and if they knew they would be out with a second strike then they might stop chancing the law.

Start putting old, white farmers in prison for hiring illegal farmworkers and I'll start taking Republicans seriously on this issue.
Go raid the offices of Smithfield Foods, Inc and throw all their executives in jail for having slaughterhouses filled with illegals.
Go round up all the good ol' boy white southern contractors who "contract out" road construction to illegal aliens, and slap them with federal immigration charges.
Go down there to Florida and investigate all the hotel CEO's -- er -- wait that includes Trump himself.
"Drain the swamp," they said. But no, you want to go after sanctuary cities, because they're run by Democrats, even if it accomplishes nothing. Just one more example of Republicans putting stupid partisan games over actual governance. it's amazing that y'all actually believe him; who do you think works in his hotels, Norwegians?

I'm 100% with stricter laws to prevent more illegal immigration. Yet, i think that from all the undocumented immigrants groups that are already here, I think we should pay a close attention to the DACA group.
The immigrant in the DACA group is not your typical gardener, dishwasher, waiter, etc... This is a group of immigrants that are working as professionals in this country. Maybe not all, but the vast majority.
P.S. ---> From an engineering point of view, a wall will not stop illegal immigration, will only make it harder. Hence, why waste so much money on a wall which its sole purpose is useless. If Trump really wants to invest on a physical barrier something more major needs to be built...not a wall.

Could not agree more. Let's end farm subsidies while we're at it.

Farm subsidies are sort of another topic, but sure.
