Yes, it's a symbol of oppression and, yes, the response to the hijab hoax is typical crap from Justin Trudeau.

The same thing happens here. A "hate crime" is reported, TPTB issue a grand statement, the hoax is uncovered, and they issue another grand statement that the hoax, nonetheless, served as an "opportunity."
