If the privacy concerns can be solved, what could be more fair? Pay for what you use.

It's the right thing to do. Let the tiny number bicyclists pay for the trails and lanes ONLY open to them.

Does California ever stop finding new ways to rake in more tax money? I generally don't have a problem paying higher taxes, but I want to SEE something for those tax dollars... we are already one of the highest taxed states in the country and have little to show for it.

divert welfare taxes and use it to pay for the roads how about that? Divert money for supporting illegal aliens and use it to fix the roads how about that? Instead of finding ways to nail the citizen with MORE taxes

LOL......I've been to California.

California drivers burn more gas and create more pollutants sitting in gridlocked traffic than they do actually going anyplace.

If they want to actually generate income, they should charge per minute of engine idling.

Ummmm......no.

When you pay for electricity, you are paying for the energy you are using.

The correct analogy for motor vehicles would be paying for the gasoline.

So it would be triple dipping applying that logic to cars by :

1.paying for the gas.

2. taxing the gas on top of it.

3. taxing per mile of actually using the gas.

You don't pay taxes based on how much electricity you use, only the energy itself.

Guess you haven't seen a utility bill recently. There are taxes upon taxes upon taxes.

My gas bill is $35 in the summer with zero usage because of all the fees and taxes.

I'm okay with tolls as long as other taxes are decreased. But I'm assuming the latter will never happen.
