..when it is well documented long before his testimony there was:

Court rebukes NSA over surveillance of U.S. citizens | Miami Herald

...and the source was - the FISA court in an order in April 2017 (thanks solely to NSA whistleblower Admiral Rogers).

Spying on candidate/POTUS elect Trump is just the most brazen example, but it's been going on for years and years.

FBI chief's claim on surveillance abuse doesn't fit the evidence | TheHill

This is what the puppet masters and the intelligence people are really afraid of coming out.

Why would they be afraid? James Clapper lied under oath and nothing was done to him. Even though we know he lied the vast majority of people only favor prosecuting those who exposed the lies.

So why would they worry?

They are obviously worried about repurcussions or they wouldn't be fighting so hard to keep this memo from coming out.

What will ultimately happen? I don't know. I'm cynical too but I hope the truth comes to light and there are some consequenses. And I would expect it to touch both parties although the immediate issue is clearly a dem problem.

This is a line out of one of my favorite books, but call it the last illusion of an illusionless man.

Wray didn't lie. The source of the OP is pure conjecture.

It's based on a FISA court order from April 2017 detailing the abuses.

We must recall that President Trump nominated Mr. Wray as the director of the FBI, and he was confirmed by the Senate.

As to the FISA abuse: no doubt, in my mind, there has been such abuse over the years. Many people had warned of this potential back when it was created in 1978. Recall that the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court (Roberts, currently) appoints the Federal District judges that serve on the court, on a rotating basis.

Extending the program and breaking the law using the program are two different issues.

One is political and one is criminal.

I'm all for ending the program.

I'm also all for holding those that broke the law using the program for political gain accountable under the law.

It doesn't concern you that this administration can't seem to appoint people that you all trust -- forget about them -- lol.

For what it may be worth to some folks, Director Wray, who is a republican, was hand-picked by Donald Trump himself, and then confirmed by a republican Senate. So as far as we know, Wray himself is not part of the "swamp."

edit: Nevermind, poster legalsea beat me to it.
