A racist would say such a thing, only a racist would want someone to play a role due to skin color, not being best qualified for the role.
Tell me, then - why would you think Idris Elba is not the best qualified? Who would be better and bring something fresh to the stodgy, tired old role? Clint Eastwood? Chuck Norris? Jeff Sessions?
I remember when our school did Arsenic and Old Lace and Sound of Music. The characters of Mortimer and Maria were played by black actors. No one complained because they were the best ones who auditioned. I never thought of race at all in musical theater. The best people for the role got the role.
I remember people absolutely freaking out when a black woman was cast as Hermione in The Cursed Child production in the UK. Plenty of outrage on both sides.

For all these children protesting stupid carp - it will result in payback. The college women protesting for free tampons with their bleed out demonstration, the school play being cancelled because of the whiteness of a actress - think about it folks - in a few years when they come before HR for a job they want and HR does a check on their background and pulls all this nutty stuff up - what do you want to bet that they will not get that position.
If I saw someone acting like this - do I want to employ them and take the chance with my business that something done doesn't align with their beliefs. There will be consequences to their actions - hope they are ready to live with that.
