So you think it reasonable to give a pass to 1.8 million DACAs so they can compete for jobs and resources against Americans? No, they aren't Americans that requires citizenship papers. Why should we Americans pay for the past non-enforcement of our borders? Our government owes us not them. What would you do with their parents here illegally? The DACAs are already demanding that their parents get to remain here also crying about the "separation of families" thingy.
These DACA people broke the law. US law says they should be deported. Of course, some were babes in their mothers' arms when they were brought across the border, and should hardly be punished for acts they had no control or responsibility for at the time.
A modest suggestion:
A guy who was 6 months old when his parents carried him across the border illegally, is now 20 years old and working for a construction company. Should he be punished for stealing 20 years in the US, which technically he did?
I say No.
OK, Charlie, your first 20 years living illegally in a much better country, the United States, are on the house. No punishment. That's a lot more benefit than people who obeyed the law and didn't cross the border 20 years ago, will get.
You're still here illegally, so NOW back you go. No charge for the 20 years free and clear in the U.S. You can apply for a visa just like everyone else who wants to come here, does. Your illegal residence will NOT be held against you, unlike people who deliberately violated US law and walked across the border (or overstayed a visa) as adults. You will be approved just as quickly as people who never violated US law, even though you have 20 years in the US that they never got.
The deportation bus leaves at noon. Be on it, or else the above 20-year amnesty is cancelled.
Um, the Dreamers and their parent aren't citizens of this country therefore they can't legally vote. However, the Democrats are vying for the ethnocentric Hispanic-citizen vote.
