Either way, this is coming across as a take it or leave it solution by Trump and Republicans. Fine...you want to arm teachers. Some states and schools may take you up on that. Other won't. so what's the next step? are we going to research gun control and have a debate about it? raise the age to purchase? ban AR-15? Make a mental health examination part of the purchase of an AR-15? create a DB of AR-15 purchases and flag people for review if more than 1 or 2 is purchase in a 6 month window?

This is just leaving a bad taste in my mouth because it's coming across as 'arm the teachers...problem solved' and then they walk away until the next shooting.

Eventually, she was able to grab hold of a pistol and open fire in self defense. The intruder was hit and ran off immediately afterwards. She then called the authorities.

If the cops were going to save her that night they needed to be in the bedroom with her.

School teachers and students in other developed countries don't have this problem.

Arming teachers is not being discussed there because weapons of mass murder are difficult to get.

But if someone in another country does get their hands on a weapon of mass murder, most likely it was manufactured in the U.S.

How screwed up are our priorities in this country to protect the interests of a small minority who collect these weapons and/or profit from it.

Well, doctors saved his life actually. The point is bullets will fly and people will get hurt/killed.

The goal should be to get guns out of hands of criminals before such a situation occurs.

The large majority of responsible gun owners take no issue with this. I am one of said.
