I totally support it. The cultures that had/have this have less crime. I also support corporal punishment, which is also proven to be very effective.
What cultures are those? No western nation, that's for sure, nor most asian nations. Please name them, and provide some facts to your claim they have less crime.
It certainly is a great deterrent. You can't tell me if the likes of the school shooters weren't taken out back and shot in the head with a stern warning anyone who does anything like it will be next it won't make people think twice.
Sure, as long as we are going to revert to being barbarians, why not stone them to death, or maybe even burn them at the stake !
I would like to think that in 2018 we humans have made some progress toward evolution. Maybe not the idiots who kill people, but us regular citizens, who should be above that kind of thinking.

That was my reaction when I saw the title of this thread. It reminded me that in the 90s Phil Donahue wanted to broadcast an execution. He was admittedly against the death penalty although he said airing an execution live was a free press issue.
Not sure the death penalty would deter most mass shooters since they already end up dying either by their own hand or suicide by cop.
